Fantastic hotel but pathetic service

Check-in meant to be at 2pm but we had to wait till 4:30pm before we could get our room. No apologies was made for this, and the staff was quite abrupt. Wifi was a nightmare to sort - I had to phone 3 times before I could get it sorted. Waited 2 hours before we got the iron and bottle opener we had to request. Coffee making facilities in room tasted awful- take your own. Lady named Gladys who worked in restaurant on 9th January at 9:25am making omeletts/eggs was the rudest staff member we've ever witnessed. She barked at you when asking what you wanted to order, then served all the men first and made the ladies wait. Even the men were shaking their heads.And she'd ignore some people when they spoke to her. We've come to this hotel for over 17 years now, but the service has gone backwards. Very sad as the hotel is lovely and one of the best spots in Cape Town.
