Unfortunately, a bad experience. Our hotel room was in an unacceptable condition. Various issues including the closet doors, poor AC, drawers coming off, etc, etc. I was told that the hotel was going through remodeling. They offered a refund which they never did after two months of following up with them. Enough said. : (

Tru Blu!
Top notch service all around- front desk, restaurant and house keeping. Employees had team chemistry and it showed. A lot of the reviews which refer to the facilities being dated are unfairly harsh. The hotel is as good as they get in say Europe and has an excelent location close to the beach front and V&A.

House keeping is very lacking in standards! Didn’t clean my room properly leaving used cup on the table, not replacing new bath gel, removing our toothbrushes from the glass leaving them on the vanity top and lastly my nightmare..removing my face wash packet! The hotel manager in charge helped finally bringing me a replacement but it took more than an hour to sort I’m out as there was no housekeeping manager on duty! Having to check on at 5am didn’t help matter and I needed to have an early night!! I was totally aghast by the rubbish Housekeeping standard of service!!

Not bad, but could've been better.
We stayed at Radisson Blu Le Vendrome for our trip down for the Cape Town Cycle Tour. The location was perfect. Unfortunately everything else at the hotel seemed less than perfect. The hotel is old and shows with wall paper peeling in areas. The aircon works at first but then decides to blow at any temperature it decides on. My wife and I were bitten badly by ticks. We did ask for clean sheets on the bed, but continued to get bites each night we slept. The morning breakfast spread was great. Service was even better in the breakfast area, with very attentive service staff. Room service was very slow. The food and drinks that arrived were great, no issues - just a timely process to get room service delivered. Overall it wasn't bad, but could definitely have been better for a premium hotel.

A sleep not to be forgotten
Had too sleep in a so called king size bed which was just two beds pushed together leaving an uncomfortable space.

Work in progress
The hotel should be described as a work in progress. Many rooms are generally in need of updating, which appears to be happening, judging by the noise from the top floors. The staff are great, if somewhat down in numbers and the duty manager, Sadeek, went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. In a few years time this hotel should be firing on all cylinders.

Property lacked maintenance. Broken drawers, cupboard has no doors, toilet seat loose. Hotel admin atrocious- messed up booking in every possible way. Staff friendly but never follow through on promises. Hotel transfer did not arrive to collect me from airport. Definitely never again!!!

Good Location
Good location. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is currently being refurbished which it needs. Shuttle bus on the hour into waterfront. Great location if you like walks along the seafront. Beds extremely comfortable. Housekeeping very good.

Good location. Room with several problems on arrival. Not serviced properly so time wasted to address faults. Have stayed twice before not penny pinching obvious now. Breakfast on day one dreadfully organised so long wait for service but better in subsequent days. New manager just appointed to sort things out, apparently. We'll see

Absolutely Terrible!
This was the most terrible stay I have encountered since I started using Hotels.com. As soon as we arrived at the hotel a man came down complaining about lack of soap and how he had called with no response, we thought that is just an oversight. We proceeded to be checked into the room, initially we were told to go to room 715 which was supposed to be with sea view, but we were told last minute that it was not up to scratch and we were to be taken to room 425 with partial sea views! We agreed to that as we were tired. As soon as we got to the room, we requested a bath waste (stopper) of which they said it’s coming, nothing came the whole night. We proceeded to request that a technician come fix the TV, no one came for our during of stay. We didn’t have a working TV or bath. We asked the cleaning lady to come after 5 minutes and when she came back she was very rude we ended up telling her not to clean. We had to go downstairs multiple times to report this and it seems no one was bothered and this is how they normally operate. Terrible or rather no hospitality at all. Worst stay of my life. Does not deserve to be a 4 star! Should be no more than one star!

lovely hotel in the very safe sea point area of cape town wonderful staff throughout the hotel good wifi spacious room only downside being the hotel interior is a bit dated but everything else is spot on..

Seagulls and old.
Hotel not up to usual standard of RadBlu. Tired and old, needs a revamp. Also rooms very dirty because of old carpets etc. No control of seagulls who nest on roofs and window ledges making excessive noise. Use of balcony limited also. Check in says 2pm on Hotels.com, on arrival told it was wrong and is 3pm. Had to sit around for 1 hour wasting time.

The staff were very friendly and made us feel so welcome. Excellent position with free shuttle bus to Water Front and only 5 minute walk to promenade and Hop On/Hop off bus. Very clean room with comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast. Only slight problem was the hotel only served food in the bar after 5pm. The food was very good but there were only enough full sized tables for about 12 people to sit and eat.

The general public areas are clean and well maintained. Staff were pleasant and generally helpful. However, on arrival at my room I noticed that the mattress protector was badly stained - this was changed. The room was generally tired (loose and damaged fittings) mouldy bath sealant, stained carpet. When the air conditioning was running water would run down the walls. My request to change rooms was denied being told there were none free. Some rooms were undergoing refurbishment but this led to loud building work noise during the day. My advice if staying here is check you room thoroughly and insist on change if it is not up to standard.

Didn't get to stay here. I am absolutely convinced (supported by discussions with other affected guests + off the record comments from more than 1 disgruntled hotel employee) that when a high demand materialised sometime later, the rooms were purposely re-sold to capitalise on an opportunity to command an increased room rate, with us the lower cost clients being laid off to alternative cheaper hotels. Diabolical behaviour by hotel manager !

The communal areas of the hotel are great but my room was outdated with a broken wardrobe and cracked window. Service was OK. Great location in Sea Point and nice breakfast however.

The location is great. Near the sea point promenade. But the rooms are not well maintained. The carpets in the room need thorough scrubbing and housekeeping could do a good job. My daughter spilt soda and the part where the drink spelt remained sticky for the rest of our stay without cleaning. Porters at the hotel: i literally had to beg to be assisted with my luggage and they saw me struggling with 3 suitcases and didnt offer to help. The staff in the restaurant were awesome but the breakfast menu was boring and the same throughout our 5 day stay

Nice stay, but don't expect any gifts
It's a very nice hotel in good condition and clean. The staff was helpful for the most part. However, we asked for a late check-out and we were denied. The staff told us to call the front desk at 8:30am on the day we were checking out to make our request and we were told the hotel was 100% full. After checking out, as we were waiting in the lobby for 2 hours until it was time to go to the airport, we heard the front desk grant other guests' requests for late checkouts. These people clearly put in their requests AFTER we did and this was very disappointing. When inquired about it, the staff offered no explanation. I can only wonder if we were treated this way because we booked through a third party (Hotels.com, in this case). We noticed that all of the hotels we booked for this trip through Hotels.com were not willing to go above and beyond for us - no upgraded rooms, no late check outs, nothing. It makes me question the value of Hotels.com.

We arrived late at night with a baby after a six hour drive. On arrival the hotel computers were down so there was a long delay whilst they tried to figure out what rooms we should be in. It took us around 45 mins to check in and the rooms that were allocated very very dated, The coffee machine was broken and not replaced despite 2 requests. We’d booked a family room for my son but there was no cot in the room so they had to make a bed for the baby on the floor. When he pulled his duvet back the sheets were all ripped! We Went to the pool area the next day, the tiled floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months with bird droppings and spillages everywhere. We ordered wine via room service but they had nothing that was on their menu and we ended up with a cheap, nasty alternative. On our 2nd night we were awoken at midnight by the evacuation alarm, followed by an announcement that it was a false alarm! Needless to say we didn’t sleep that night. The hotel is like faulty towers, very very dated and worst of all unclean. I’d rate it two star at best, where four star rating came from god knows!!!

the cancelled our booking along with many others the manager had just overturned our booking because he realised people were paying more shocking really I would not book with that hotel or expedia again I realise its more the hotel than yourselves but you had not checked our booking was ok and when told really didn't help

On arrival to our hotel after travelling for nearly 24 hours to Cape Town on New Year’s Eve we were told we didn’t have a room , we were put in a derelict hotel up the road. The manager didn’t care a jot and eventually after 6 hours at reception we had to take the derelict hotel for one night , New Year’s Eve and moved to a new hotel the next day. Do not book this hotel as all they did was lie to us about our accommodation. People were sleeping on the floor and one honeymoon couple were told they were to leave. Our party was split up for the week

Do Not Stay Here!!! I honestly believe the good reviews are paid for! We booked almost a year ago and they did not have a room for us! Not to mention while waiting we saw 4 families have the same issue or their room was broken or management lied to them. I talked to guest who were during when they returned home since they paid for a room and they did not have one available with no refund!! There was a family with toddlers who waited in the lobby for 6 hours!! Before they got a room. The management will say yes to anything but won’t do any of it. The managers offered for us to stay at the Fire and Ice hotel since they did not have a room. Then no joke 45 seconds later he walks up and says I don’t know who said you were going to another hotel but you are staying with us. I told him after talking to all the guest in the lobby I would prefer to stay at the Fire and Ice. I asked for a written statement saying I would receive a room similar to the upgraded room I purchased with them. He assured me it was not needed and said they will give you a upgraded room while shaking my hand!!! We get to fire and ice and they told us they talked with the manger and told them they only had standard rooms available. This dude with a ponytail lied straight to my face!! Fire and Ice took care of us and it was a good decision for us to move. Our tour guide went to the blu the next day due to error to pick us up and he said while he was waiting he saw 2 groups of guest also complaining. Stay Away!

Hotel cancelled our booking due to hotel being full and problem on their system. Received mail confirming cancellation but no repayment or adjustment to reward room utilised. Await feedback asap.

Take responsibility
I made a booking through Hotel.com and received confirmation. When I arrived at the hotel I was told there was no room. You have to take responsibility for your relationship with hotel.com. It is not good enough to for you to tell me that it was their fault. We are an elderly couple and you caused us both extra expense and significant distress.
