Garden retreat in Cape Suburbs

Posted Feb 2, 2016
Pros: Despite the number of rooms it had the atmosphere of a smaller hotel. Staff training is obviously excellent.
Cons: Magnifying mirror in the bathroom
Location: It is close to the Cavendish shopping mall and cinemas, with rapid access to the N3 and other places in the peninsula
The Vineyard is in convenient location, with all amenities close by and in easy reach of Cape Town. Set in a luxuriant, leafy garden it was delightful to eat and drink outside under the shady trees. Our room had a magnificent view of the mountain. The staff were pleasing and helpful, and we were very sorry to leave after a wonderful stay.

Magnificent classic hotel, so centrally located

Posted Jan 24, 2016
Probably our tenth stay at the hotel. Wonderful staff, many of whom have been there over the years and recognise us which makes it feel like "home away from home" for us. Incredible setting and very difficult to beat the magnificent pool area with Table Mountain as the backdrop. Ideal location in Cape Town as so central to everything, and extremely relaxing as away from the tourists and noise of other locations. Extremely secure and safe. The best breakfast at any hotel I have stayed at around the world. Great gym. Some rooms a little dated.

Beautiful garden setting

Food, beverage, staff, comfort, the Vineyard has it all. A bit pricey by local standards so watch available on line specials. 10 minute walk to nice shopping center.

Excellent breakfast and pool

The hotel hosts both business and leisure travellers. Sometimes, the business talks across our breakfast table where a little disturding. Apart from that the facilities and service level are excellent.

It was a delightful stay in every way. Staff was so helpful, friendly and positive, exemplary and an example to others. We loved the comfort, historical atmosphere, outstanding food and exquisite gardens and surroundings. This is Cape Town at its best. Highly recommended.
