There had been negative comments about the check in procedure but we followed the instructions that came with the confirmation email and it was seamless. The bathroom kitchen and bedding etc were spotless and the floors had been swept but we ended up wearing flip flops as our feet were really filthy if we went barefoot

Ideal Location for tourists
The location of the unit is ideal as you can walk to and from the Cape Town Waterfront. You can choose to eat at the Waterfront or buy supplies and cook in the unit. There is excellent security in and around the building. The pillows in the bedrooms were to soft for our liking, would prefer firmer pillows and some blankets in the unit. Overall the furniture and beds were comfortable.Wifi worked excellently.

The property was easy to find and secure. Check in process was professional and efficient. Easy/short walk to V&A Waterfront and short taxi ride to bars, restaurants etc. Cleaned on a daily basis. Would certainly return again

Great view, easy access to Waterfront area
Large property with all the amenities you would want in a holiday rental. Its position is ideal to get to the waterfront and is an acceptable walk from the main town district too. Would recommend. Kept clean every day. Towel radiators in bathrooms far too hot, hence my reduced overall rating. My partner got a really nasty burn due to accidental contact. This could be very dangerous for a child.

Spacious,clean & comfortable. However very poor tv & WiFi reception. Good view overlooking the quays . A few minutes drive to the Cape Town Waterfront. Two parking bays in front of the apartment was helpful so definitely great for elderly ,children & if you need to carry many items Good security & helpfull guards .

Best location in Cape Town
This is a beautiful property, very secure in one of the best areas to stay in Cape Town. It's our 2nd stay here and we will stay again next time we travel to Cape Town. Depending where you make your booking the local agent will vary. Our Orbitz booking was handled by "Home from Home Hospilitly services". Our apartment had a broken refrigerator on arrival so we had to deal with this issue, which was never repaired during our 7 night stay. This is not a cheap property! I expected more from the handling agent. It was a disappointment! TRAVELER BEWARE....on checkin the agent took a copy of my credit card, as a guarantee in the event of damage. After leaving the apartment and South Africa, we are contacted by our credit card company, someone is using our card to purchase woman's clothes from a online store in Cape Town as well as a charges at a hotel in Jo-berg. It is so obvious my card information was compromised by this company.

Difficult to find
This is an apartment that is being rented out by an agency- beautiful place and great location. The problem is to get in touch with the right person that will check you in - we were directed to three different telephone numbers before somebody even knew which residence we were talking about and actually had our reservation. Somebody then has to come to the place to check you in as all the buildings are private residency. Once you get over this ‘hurdle’ it’s a great stay;)

Great place
Superb facility for those who don't need the extra services that come with a hotel, such as breakfast, concierge or restaurant/bar. Self contained apartment in a very well maintained complex. Security is high so you will feel very safe. We didn't use the pool or leisure facilities so could not comment on those, but they did look limited. There was a daily service on the apartment to refresh towels and toiletries, plus make the bed and give the place a general tidy up. The few staff we did interact with were pleasant enough, but contact with any one was necessary apart from check in and check out. The one minor complaint would be that staff from the agency running the bookings are not on site, and so when you arrive you may need to wait for someone to drive from their offices to the apartment complex. If we go back to Cape Town, this will be the first option that I'll be checking out.

The worst ever experience
waterfront village is not a bad idea, but when a third party management company is involved, it just gone way too bad. First we booked under one reservation 2 units and they gave us the Units in two separate buildings and we have advised them we are traveling as a family but no one bothered to do anything. Second & one first day and in one of the units wifi was not working and by calling the office the in charge was us playing with us and was just arrogant & refused to give us time to visit the unit and solve the issue and hang over the call ?! however when I reached to water front security office to reach to his boss in two minutes he was there and just 5 minutes before that he was refusing to give us time frame to fix the issue. Third, and in two days in a row the cleaning staff was opening our bags and since they force the opening two bags has been damaged and police was involved. Fourth, and in our last two days no wifi was available at all so we can't manage our reservations and get connected to the world and as usual from the management company no support or alternatives been provided. Fifths, one of the units was not having electricity from midnight to the following next day afternoon till it came back. And at last and at one of the units there are workers working from 8 am and drilling start at 9 am so as a person on holiday he must leave the room at or before 9 as the sound of hammering and drilling won't even makes you stay at the unit and forget the comfort at all

I would like to make you aware that we operate apartments and we do not advertise ourselves as a hotel which has all apartments in one block. It is therefore not possible to assure you that both apartments can be on one building. The Marina is a residential set up similar to estates where different owners own apartments and we also happen to own apartments within that set up. It is not a hotel. Every operator has their own share of apartments and don't own the whole block individually. On the matter of the bags zips. There was no evidence that this was done by our staff as your bags could have been damaged in transit from different airports you crossed. It is not a secret that bags get tampered with at airports worldwide. Our complimentary Wi-Fi was available with clear instructions in the apartments. I understand were your frustrations are emanating from as you indicated your displeasure the moment you arrived and realized that the 2 apartments booked were in different blocks, thereafter everything we tried was not good enough.

First (but not last) trip to Capetown
We washed up here after a 34 hour flight from California. The apartment was clean, well appointed and well located-close to the waterfront but on a quiet lagoon. We really enjoyed sitting on the large balcony enjoying a glass of good South African wine as the sun set. If you want to cook, Woolworth's has a wonderful market downstairs. If you would rather dine out, there are many restaurants a quick walk away.

Beauty is skin deep
We had booked apartment 202 Faulkonier for 5 nights in June 2016 towards the end of our 3 week holiday in South Africa. The apt is a huge 2 bedroom one with a big balcony extending from the living room to 1 of the bedrooms. Proximity to the V&A mall and restaurants was great. Unfortunately the company managing the apt needed to buy electricity to top up the meter but was very stingy so everyday we would run out of power and would have to sit in darkness till we called and they came to top it up. If you use the space heaters and geysers you are sure to run out of power!

We truly enjoyed our stay at the marina waterfront. It had a washer and dryer, which was great for a one week stay. The kitchen is very well equipped. Rooms are spacious. The wifi worked great. The location is perfect for sightseeing. Would definitively recommend this accomodation.

Overall a good choice of self catering accomm (it's not a hotel, so don't expect room service, concierge serv etc) Very spacious, well kitted out, and so close to V&A. Easy to get to the CT hotspots. The furniture and decor is somewhat dated, but didn't detract from a great family holiday.

Great for family trip!
We have come to Cape Town with our two babies and although everyone is very friendly, we have had some trouble finding suitable accomodation. The V&A Waterfont Marina residential is the best place we have enjoyed in this trip so far. The location is fantastic, at walking distance to some of the best shopping and attractions of the city. The building is very beautiful, modern and quite large. All rooms have great views and lighting. We had access to three different pools (one of them we had to pay for but it is worth it as you also get access to the gym). There are two decent sized bedrooms in the flat, with two double beds (lovely soft sheets!). Both bedrooms have its own complete bathroom, this was really helpful to us. Also, the kitchen has everything we needed. The appliances are all new and all have good brands (no cheap stuff). The balcony had good views and we did not hear a sound during the night. We had a little complication when we arrived with the company that manages some of the flats as they had lost our reservation, and one day they forgot to come to clean. However, the rest of our stay was great and we can definitely recommend it. Yes, it is expensive, but totally worth it!

Service nice and friendly, however at times a bit slow. Rooms cleaned at 18:00 or after. When I ordered dinner they forgot half of my order, twice! Other than that, a nice hotel, very good location. Great shuttle bus to the Waterfront. All in all, great and I would stay there again.

Stayed for four nights while attending a conference at the Cape Town International Conference Centre. Just 15 min walk from the CTICC. In a very safe location at the V&A Waterfront where one can go for dinners and shopping. My colleague and our spouses shared the apartment. Our spouses had a wonderful time exploring Cape Town on a Hop On Hop Off bus which has its main stop located 5 min away. The apartment is spacious and clean, and cleaning services provided every day. A bit expensive, but great value if shared with another couple or for the whole family.

We had a brilliant time in Cape Town staying for 10 days. The location is excellent - a two minute walk to the V&A Waterfront and very close to the city/easy to locate and to get to and from if you are out and about, but still very quiet. Our apartment was located in the rear row, but every one has a view out over the canal or marina and the back of ours also gave a view of Table Mountain - what's not to like. Secure parking and daily maid service, along with a kitchen and washing machine etc if you need it. The apartment itself was very comfortable with a large balcony. We also had access to the two small pools on the canalside but the extra 150 Rand (less than £10) for access to the Quarterdeck (gym and larger pool with view over the Marina) is well worth it especially if youhave kids that want to use the pool every ten minutes. When we arrived we were delayed due to heavy traffic and couldn't access the gate because the police had closed the road (a One Direction concert up the road was causing chaos) but a call to the office sorted everything out and we were collected and escorted through the blockage and checked in without any problems by the really helpful local rep (Home from Home). All in all an excellent place to stay if you want comfort and the ability to do your own thing.

great spot at the waterfront
great spot - i could not get a decent hotel at at the waterfront because of the mining indaba and this was a brilliant alternative. only downside is that there is no onsite concierge service and using the pool and gym is a bit involved but otherwise great.

perfect location
We could not ask for a better vacation. The Waterfront Marina Residential was excellent in every respect, walking distance to the V&A Waterfront where you can find restaurants/shopping/ and anything you want.I would definitely recommend this accomodation to anyone visiting Cape Town. You can even keep connected to the outside world with WiFi which is all included.
