Mountains and Lakes
Scenic drives through the spectacular mountains could see you reaching the stunning lakes of Glendalough in County Wicklow. It takes less than an hour to get there and you can return to Dublin on the motorway to be back at your hotel in even less time.
Along the Coast
A drive south from Dublin along the coast will offer you romantic seascapes and charming villages where you can find cafes, marinas and piers to explore at your leisure. Killiney is often referred to as Ireland’s Bay of Naples and the promenade at Bray or the coastal walk to Greystones both offer fantastic views over the sea.
For families Phoenix Park is a half hour drive for a fun-packed day. It is one of the largest enclosed parks in an urban setting in Europe, and its grounds are complete with wild deer roaming freely and stately homes. Dublin Zoo is situated within the park and there’s a great children’s playground, monuments, statues and plenty of opportunities for a relaxing picnic.
See More of Ireland
Even on a short break car rental lets you see more of what Ireland has to offer – and it’s all there on Dublin’s doorstep.
