Located within minutes of the walled city. Nicely furnished and decorated room. Close to the river and bridge across to the new city. Easy to walk to the lovely shopping areas.

Great hotel a 2 minute walk from the medieval city,with a truly spectacular view. Rooms are small but of a high standard. Excellent bathroom and one of the best rainfall showers I've ever had at a hotel. Staff were friendly. Buffet breakfast decent. WiFi is patchy and slow. Adequate for browsing but not good enough to take part in a couple of work meetings.

Lovely hotel, made us feel very welcome and an added bonus that the reception staff could speak English , as our French is poor. Great views to the castle and city walls and the pool was an added bonus

Great location, 5 minute walk to inside the walls of Carcassone. Nice view from the hotel room overlooking the walls. Good customer service, reception spoke good English, French and Spanish. Room was spacious and clean and updated.

Lovely weekend stay
Hotel Aragon was the perfect find for a long weekend getaway. It is a great location, just next to La Cite, and the on site parking made it ideal to stay with a rental car for adventures outside Carcassonne. The rooms were extremely clean, with comfortable beds and a powerful shower. The breakfast was lovely with fresh bread and pastries from a local bakery. Finally, the staff were very helpful and friendly.

If you want a reasonably priced hotel which is within easy walking distance of the old walled town of Carcassonne and with free parking then this fits the bill. Small room but well appointed.

I found the lack of parking annoying, after a long trip from England to arrive and find there was no reserved parking for guests only a first come first served basis and after a days sightseeing to have to drive around the town looking for parking and then find the car before 8 am charges apply annoying. A car park nr the hotel at a charge of 10euros per night was suggested but on a weeks stay this is another cost on the price of the hotel. The hotel were more accommodating when I said I was leaving to find a hotel with parking.

Typically French and very quaint. Cosy room and only a couple of hundred yards from the beautiful and impressive old walled city and castle. Good and varied choices of food for breakfast and very helpful staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay.

Hope you don't have the same experience as we did
I don't usually do down Hotels but on this occasion I will make an exception. Where do I start!! Why do Hotels put you at opposite ends of the Hotel when you are have one booking with 2 rooms booked!! The Wi-Fi was rubbish. It advertised a pool and we took gear but it was dirty and un inviting. We stayed for 2 nights and the room was dirtier when i got back than when I left the first day. There was paper and cotton on the floor which did not belong to me. And to cap it all they charged us again for the rooms after I had already insisted that I had pre paid. The receptionist was very arrogant and insisted I had not paid up front. When I produced evidence she did not believe me. I eventually got her to ring and make enquiries and she eventually admitted that there was a mistake and refunded us the second amount. At no point did she apologise for her indignance. We then asked on at least 3 occasions if we owed any more money and she said no. I have now received an e mail stating that we owe for breakfasts and taxes!!! What a cheek after all of that that they still seem to go after us for this money and not write it off as goodwill after all of the problems. Having said all of that the only good side is that it is only a short 2 minute walk to the old town.

Good afternoon, I don't usually answer comments but for you I shall make an exception. I cannot let it be said such lies especially as my colleague was present. You made two different reservations, we could not guess that you want rooms side by side, it would have been indicated upon your arrival, we would have given you a room closer to that of your friends. Concerning the swimming pool the quality of the water is irreproachable, the report of analyses posted on the door shows it. Furthermore you speak about arrogance and about contempt while you never answer when we said hello to you in the morning, nor even to pick up a smile. At your departure, we didn't have the good reservations in our possession that's why we asked you to pay for the stay. You returned to the hotel in fury as if we were thieves while we just tried to understand what happenned. You missed me respect and you wanted to oblige me to take by the telephone the person with whom you communicated while I was already on-line with a person of Expedia to find a solution. At the end, we fully repaid you and we were so much disrupted by your behavior that we forgot breakfasts and taxes. We sent an e-mail to your friend and yourself to know if you authorized us to charge your credit card for the payment of breakfasts and taxes. E-mail in which you have even take time to answer. That I see Sir, it is that you left by leaving in account 6 breakfasts at 9.50€ and 6 tourist taxes at 1€, in conclusion which wants to take into account the opinion of a dishonest man …

Enjoyed a 3 day stay at hotel Aragon. Helpful pleasant staff Room although small was fine for a short stay and was kept very clean. Breakfast had varied selection of fruit, juices, cereals, cold meat, bread ,croissants etc all quickly replenished and well presented. The breakfast room itself was a bit small to accommodate the number of people.

Aragon is located at a short distance to a medieval fortified city; about 5 minutes walking. The Cité de Carcassonne is a walled city that has their defensive wall intact, astonishing beautiful! We were pleasantly surprised by this Hotel. Our room has a balcony and a large window facing the fortress (with an unobstructed view to the fortification) A midsize room with another smaller room with a bunk bed separated by a thick curtain. The room was clean and well maintained; tastefully decorated and equipped with a computer desk, a comfortable bed, wardrobe and modern bathroom furniture. Adequate shower compartment with a high water pressure head and handheld shower. Parking available at the Hotel free of charge. Quality breakfast is served early in the morning. The Hotel staff is friendly (ready to assist with anything you might need) bilingual a polite. We feel we got a lot more than we paid for. I highly recommend the Aragon.

We were able to walk everywhere which is what we like. While we didn’t have breakfast in the hotel, the very nice person at the front desk allowed us to have a cup of coffee which was all that we wanted in the lovely breakfast room. We enjoyed chatting with other guests. Had a good rest on comfortable beds, albeit a bit noisy as we were on the street side of the hotel. The staff were excellent and we would definitely stay here again.

This was a nice hotel in a very good area. The only thing that really lets this hotel down is the staff at reception (unhappy bunch) - not forthcoming at all, not informative re. area (no map offered, had to ask) - really got the feeling "not to ask anything". Could do with kettle in room as the coffee machine in the foyer only dispenses espresso (tiny cups) at one euro. A bit soulless.

Good value hotel in a superb location
This is a great budget hotel about a 5 minute walk from the old Cité walls and all the sights, restaurants and shops. It is about a 30 minute walk into the lower town. We got a lovely room with a patio door opening on to the swimming pool and patio area with sun loungers. The room was nicely furnished with a double bed and small hanging space for clothes. The bathroom was very clean and the room was serviced daily. Reception staff, with one exception, were friendly and helpful. We arrived early before our room was ready and the girl on reception was very helpful - we were able to get what we needed out of our suitcases and she said they would keep the cases until we got back. When we returned, the staff had changed and the we asked the lady on reception where our luggage was, she had no idea and was totally uninterested in finding out. We eventually found it ourselves tucked between two tables in the breakfast room! We only had breakfast in the hotel on our last day and thought it very pricey. There are quite a few restaurants in the old town that do breakfast and we ate there - much cheaper and more interesting. The shuttle bus from the airport drops you off /picks you up in front of the Pont Levis Hotel at the top of the hill in front of the Cité and it is about 50 metres from there to the Aragon. The only negative I have is that we would have liked a safe in the room.

great little hotel to stay
just a few yards from medieval city. delightfully decorated rooms, roomy bathroom, with natural daylight and windows that open! Bonus of swimming pool. Staff helpful and allowed me to try out my poor French. Airport bus stop around the corner, 6 euro fare, very helpful drivers. 17 euros taxi fare. Plenty of restaurants inside city walls.

The location of this hotel was superb. The hotel room was small. The bathroom seemed newish and was a decent size but the carpet in the bedroom had stains on it which was very off putting when walking into the room. On arrival and that evening the receptionist was constantly on the phone. The next morning the staff were much more attentive and friendly. We were told to leave our key when we went out. We returned at 10pm - there was no one on reception so we helped ourselves - we could have taken any key. However overall for the location etc I felt the price we paid was ok.

Perfect location Clean and classic
Beautiful hotel by the rear entrance to the citadel. The place is classic and superbly designed. The rooms were salacious and comfortable and ours had a view of the castle. The staff was friendly and helpful and the entire stay felt more like a bed and breakfast than a chain hotel. It was SUPER CLEAN and I will happily return next time.
