Great hotel close to everything

Posted Jan 11, 2018
Great, clean hotel close to everything in City Centre. The staff was courteous and very obliging. Only downside would be the showers/bathtubs have a high ledge and may be difficult for older people or those with mobility issues. Also, if you're facing the opposite side of St. Mary's street where most of the foot traffic is, there are several nightclubs on that strip that could make some noisy nights, especially on the weekend. Those issues didn't bother us, but something to keep in mind if that would affect your stay. Wonderful place and would definitely go back.

Location: very close to the town
Hotel was in the middle of Cardiff excellent ease for shopping. even though it was in the middle of the town we slept all night as the noise from the street was muffled. Which was very good as thought it would be noisy. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and the room was clean and tidy. would recommend this hotel and would certainly visit again.

Nice hotel lovely staff

Have stayed at this hotel a few times before, great location and staff, the rooms vary in size, some are quite small, however our recent stay was disappointing due to a very uncomfortable bed the mattress was very old dipping in the middle which was quite visible

Long walk to room via two lifts Not an issue for me but would be awkward with lots of luggage

Great location; clean and comfortable..

Posted Dec 13, 2017
Pros: Clean, convenient, good sized rooms with good TV and good shower.
Cons: • Needs consolidated access to all floors - a major engineering task unfortunately. • WiFi is non-existent in parts of the hotel, which is a pain.
Location: Within 5 minutes walk of Central station, Principality Stadium, castle, pubs and bars to suit all ages, restaurants/ fast food and St David's Centre.
Got a truly great deal for a 2-night stay in a hotel which is right in the middle of things - a stone's throw from the Central station, Principality Stadium, castle, pubs, bars, restaurants and Dewi Sant mall. Room had all the facilities plus a big bed and great glass shower. Effective double glazing shuts out all external sound - in any case because the ground, first and second floors are occupied by franchises and Reception, noise pollution would be unlikely in any case. One downside was the convoluted way of getting from street level to reception (lift to Reception floor from the Westgate St. 'side' entrance and stairs AND lift from St Mary's St. main entrance) and then via a different lift (only one) at the other end of the building up to the accommodation floors. A small inconvenience considering all the pluses, but one that disabled guests might want to look into further; wheelchair access is certainly there (but from Westgate St. only): it just takes a lot more time and effort than would normally be the case to navigate your way to your room. Another issue was that the WiFi coverage was patchy at best - in my room (in the old south wing) it was too weak to work. Not an issue for me on this social visit, but for a business trip to Cardiff it would rule the hotel out entirely.

Great hotel. Central location

Posted Dec 3, 2017
Arrived late Friday afternoon to a lovely friendly welcome from the staff. Checked in quickly. Really pleased with the room. Good size. Room to move around. Everything clean and well presented. Room looked over the busy Main Street but hardly any noise in the room. We only stayed one night but lots of storage for clothes if you stayed longer. Staff were friendly and gave us advice on getting to places. Plenty of shops, pubs, clubs and restaurants on your door step. Bar area is well decorated and reasonable prices for a city center hotel. Didn’t have breakfast but it smelt nice. Got our parking discounted (NCP) not to far up the street and even paid for it at the hotel. Would be very happy to return to this hotel and would highly recommend it.

Close to all the shops, stadium and theatres.

Pros: Close proximity to everything in Cardiff, good value, excellent service.
Location: Central location. Easy access to shopping areas, entertainment and plenty of eateries. Would be a good place to stay to explore Cardiff.
Fabulous stay. Couldn't believe how big the hotel is, considering the entrance is obscure from the street. Staff friendly and helpful. Room comfortable. Breakfast very good with all tastes catered for.
