Relax at Physis
Highly recommend Physis, Juliet is full of information to share. Unique B&B, very relaxed and chill place to hang out. Rooms were clean, we had the outside shower it was great, big shower plenty of hot water. the place is exactly as seen in the pictures. Go with friends and relax at Physis.

Just Amazing!! I felt at home. The most comfortable I've felt in a while. I just adored the property and the host! I'll most likely be back as soon as next week. Ohh my and the breakfast!!!! Superb!!

Not Worth Staying At
We only stayed one night even though we paid for three nights. The rooms are on the first floor with the owners living on the top floor. The room had two windows but because it’s a walled in compound you get the claustrophobic feeling of being in an inside room on a cruise or being in a basement room. My wife hated it. So we left and returned to the hotel we had just checked out of the day before. Also the room had many spiderwebs that out in the open. For breakfast the coffee was good but our omelettes were served cold. Overall not a place I would recommend given the price.

We loved the breakfast, fresh fruit and the options provided we all delicious. The hotel grounds and seating areas were very nice. Matt and Juliet are very nice and helpful with providing suggestions for things to do & see in the area. Location of the hotel is good, close to groceries, beach and some restaurants.

AWESOME B&B with great hosts. Walkable to the beach. Vegan food available. Lots to see in the area, it's nice to have a car but you can also bike or walk to most things.

Just stay here.
Beautiful and tranquil. One of the nicest boutique hotels I’ve stayed in. I traveled alone and felt very safe here. Breakfast is wonderful- fruit and eggs to order or pancakes good coffee. The outdoor areas are so inviting. The hosts are Amazing. Always available for advice and knowledgeable about best beaches and restaurants. Housekeeping is excellent. I left a tip for her and she checked to make sure it was for her! I will return.

Short but Sweet
We loved our stay albeit short. Easily spotted sign to turn off highway even after dark. We parked our car & were welcomed like family by the owners. Relax is spoken here. Clean, comfortable, inviting spaces. Breakfast prepared & served at no charge all in a serene experience. Very gracious and helpful staff with suggestions for things to do while in Puerto Viejo. Bikes available to rent. Close to beaches. Can't wait to return for more nights at the Physis Caribbean.

Highly recommend.
This is a small (4 units) family-run bed and breakfast. The property is precious, and the proprietors, Matthew and Juliet, genuinely want you to make the most of your visit to their region. While providing you a delightful made-to-order breakfast of their specialties (eggs, pancakes, French toast...) and a bowl of fresh mango, papaya, pineapple, star fruit,..., they'll offer ideas of things to do and tips on how best to plan your day and navigate their area. Bikes and surfboards are available, the beach, lots of restaurants and a market within just a few Check out the Jaguar Rescue nearby! We did not have a car with us (didn't need one), but parking was available to the other guests who did. It was nice to have the privacy of our room, but also the common garden area just steps away with breezy hang-out areas to read a book or rest outdoors.

Wonderful friendly atmosphere Extremely clean grounds and rooms. Breakfasts were always amazing with several choices. Juliet and Mathew provided all the information needed to make great activity decisions. Very close to supermart restaurants and across the street from the ocean. Can walk or bicycle to an amazing swimming beach Cocles. Jaguar Rescue Center is a short walk away and a must see!

Great experience
Physis is a well maintained property with a nice green patio and Erica is a great host, very responsive and friendly. We felt lucky to have her as our host and we enjoyed her breakfast and hospitality. The area is safe (safer than the town) green and junglish, close to the main attractions Cocles beach, Jaguar Center, ARA project (macaw parrots) and La Ceiba park (night jungle tours). Bikes are available for rent at bnb and you will need them to go to Puerto Viejo or Punta Uva (or you can take a bus). We had a great time staying at Physis and we would recommend it to everyone looking for a nice cozy place. Thank you! J&M

Hotel: the room is a small but confortable with TV, security box and a little refrigerator (that is located in the bathroom). We consider it is expensive considering the facilities. Cleaning: very good Breakfast: we had 3 option, eggs and toasts, pancakes or french toasts. Always a plate of fruits and coffee. Parking: it is outside and it is small. Not feeling very safe, however nothing bad happened. Ericka is the person in charge, she is nice and helpful.

Great place!
We stayed here our first few nights in Costa Rica and absolutely loved it. We wanted to head right back upon arriving at our next destination. The staff is friendly, the vibe is chill. It is close (walking distance) to Playa Chiquita, the Jaguar Rescue Centre, and a few really nice restaurants. I want to be there now!

This b&b is very well designed and in a modern Caribbean style. The first floor where you have breakfast (good one despite I would have expected little bit more) is great with a nice view in the forest . If you have the room under the breakfast room it could be then very noisy . Rooms are nice and clean, only too small and dark. Owners Chad and Anna are great person and they help you on everything you need

The new inkeepers were very welcoming and able to answer all questions I had about getting around, how to get to the beach, calling a taxi when I needed it, and preparing a nice breakfast every morning.

It was our first time visitin Costa Rica. The staff were fantastic and made you feel right at home! The place is clean and beautiful. The staff are there for you when you need them whether they are there or not. They provide excellent recommendations for activities to do and placed to go. They also have their own hiking tour to a waterfall and provide lunch. We couldn't do it because it was raining. But on out next visit we will definitely be hiking to the waterfall! I highly recommend d staying at Physis!

We had a nice stay. Chad and Anna were great hosts. We arrived a bit early and we had a welcome drink (delicious) with them and they gave us a lot of information about the area and things to do. Anna was very helpful in making some reservations for a cooking class despite the fact that I had limited availability when trying to make the arrangements. Both were super helpful in giving recommendations, and making reservations during our stay. I was really impressed at how they were always available when we needed them, but never intrusive. There are only a few rooms here, so it feels very secluded and it is just a very relaxing, well maintained space. During our time in this area we saw a lot of other places we could have stayed, but none of them were as appealing as Physis. I highly recommend it and will stay there again if I'm in the area. The room we stayed in (Sol) has an outdoor shower. It should be noted that this is in a common area that can be semi closed off. It is certainly appealing after a hot day at the beach, but if you are extra shy you may want another room for more privacy.

Great stay!
The couples that works there were incredibly hospital, providing us with amazing recommendations for how to spend our short trip. They gave us honest opinions on restaurants and things to do. We used their bikes one morning to catch the sunrise on the beautiful beach. The location is great for accessibility to the beaches.

This is the best hotel in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica
Physis Caribbean Bed & Breakfast was honestly one of the greatest parts of my trip to Puerto Viejo! The owners, Chad and Anna are the sweetest couple that truly care about their guests, and will adjust to their guests' preferences and likes/dislikes! They were constantly asking how they can make our experience greater, and were actively pursuing our happiness and pleasure at their bed & breakfast! They were a huge help in booking our transportation and our activities in and around Puerto Viejo. Furthermore, they were a huge help in finding the perfect spot to propose to my fiancé! Thank you Chad and Anna for the greatest traveling experience I have ever had!

Best Bed & Breakfast~Caribbean Coast,Costa Rica
Looking around as we drove to this B & B, along the Caribbean Coast, my husband & I started becoming concerned & a bit worried of the type of place we had booked. When we got there, Anna & Chad had a welcome drink for us. When they showed us around, we were so shocked (& highly impressed!!) What a gorgeous little gem of a place this is!!! It has been designed with every detail done beautifully, in accordance to the jungle area. So immaculate, clean, & close to everything. We would have loved to have stayed at this B & B for a much longer time, but our vacation time was over. Anna & Chad are the friendliest host/ess that we have ever had the pleasure of meeting!! They are both so accommodating, and are just very likeable people. They had great tips as to what to see, where to eat, & anything we could have wanted to know about the area. Anna even emailed me, about a month before our trip~ a list of different activities to chose from,with explanations of what to expect on each trip, times & prices. We did do a Canal tour through her, & it was amazing!! The place itself, is like something out of Home & Gardens magazine!!! Also,the breakfasts were very tasty!! I would recommend taking a trip to the Caribbean Coast, just to be able to stay at their B & B. It was a highlight of our trip!!!

We stayed for one night; kinda wish we could have stayed more nights with this wonderful couple. We had to leave very early in the morning so she packed us breakfast to go. Room was real comfy. They greeted us with a mixed beverage :) such a nice surprise after a 10 hour road trip that was only 230miles long.

As soon as we arrived we were looked after. We had a great welcome drink and excellent recommendations of where to eat and where to go. The hotel is pristine and the gardens lovely. room was great, our shower was outside amd was cold which was unexpected but still fine. The breakfast in the morning is amazing. Emily and Jeremy are nice people who try their best to make your stay as best as possible.

Wow this place was amazing. Fantastic hosts. Good location close to town. Nice rooms with fast wifi, air conditioning, and all the TV channels and Netflix you could watch. Plus they serve you a great welcome drink and a killer breakfast. I just wish we would have found it sooner

Prisvärt resort
Väldigt trevligt resort som ligger bra till för att kunna uppleva området la Fortuna. Bra pool område och rätt bra frukost också. Mycket fåglar inne på området vilket va trevligt. Som helhet väldigt bra resort och mycket prisvärt!

La cabina es muy limpia, tiene un horror de distribución con el refrigerador en el baño :/ Es bonita, el desayuno es aceptable, la cama es regular, pequeña para ser matrimonial. No me gusto que el parqueo es abierto al otro lado de la calle y con una vigilancia por cámara, esperaba un parqueo cerrado. La zona es aceptable, el precio también; en general la cabina está bien...
