Cons: Lobby and breakfast area dirty.
Location: Small mining community.
Considering that the hotel is located in a small mining community does not warrant the lack of cleanliness in the lobby and the less than professional greeting and communication from the staff at the counter. The lack of breakfast choices and the dirty conditions in the breakfast area, even at 7:00 am, is not acceptable. I frequent other hotels in small mining communities and their level of service and cleanliness surpasses this hotel.

Stay here only if you have to.

It is convenient to I-80 and cheaper than Elko, but the service is poor (one of the members of our group had a room with a broken shower and it took almost 24 hours to find him another room and not because the they were full), the ice machines never worked (we were there for 15 days, working nearby), the stairways were clogged with dirt and the highway noise penetrated everything. On top of that the 'free' breakfast was inedible and the coffee watery. We had no other choice, because of our work schedule, although we will consider camping if this is the only choice!!

Poor Managment

Posted Apr 28, 2010
We went to visit family in Carlin and this was the only accomodation that was listed on Expedia - iotherwise we would have had to stay in Elko - 20 miles away. Carlin is a very small town so when we arrived the motel was pretty well booked. when we got to our room we realized that there was only one set of tiowels for the three of us. We asked the person at the desk for more towels and were informed that they didn't have any clean and we could get them the next day. (We had arrived in the evening after an 8 hour trip and were very tired and wanted showers.!) We asked if they could have some washed and were told not at this time. So-- my husband asked if they could wash the towels we had with us and he said he would have to call the manager to get permission to do that. At that point one of the othe guest said they had some extra towels in thier room as one of their party didn't show up. OK - I understand the part about having no liinens - those things happen - but not the part about not being able to get any until the next day. The next day we discovered that the room hadn't been cleaned and found partially eaten hamburgersand french fries in the corner of the room and dirtyy napkins or paper towels in the bedroom. I don't even want to know what those were used for. I'm so sorry to have to write this. I guess mostly it was the indeference with which they dealt with these issues.
