Excellent Manager!!

Pros: Everything!
Cons: Lower the price a little beat.
The hotel was great and the manager organized a free evening of beverages (wine, beer, sodas) and snacks that was more than welcome. The breakfast was great too.

Problems 2 NIGHT STAY at HIE CARLISLE-HARRISBURG

Pros: Location was perfect for visiting family. Breakfast was great. Good amount of parking.
Cons: Strive to be a 4 Star Hotel!
Location: Great location to visit Carlisle and a short drive to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
The two problems: 1. The air conditioning was not cooling the room. We gave it a chance since we checked in and left to visit family. Upon returning that first night it was still INOP. The next morning we reported it to front desk prior to departing again to visit family. Upon return it was still not fixed. we were sweating in the room so we had to open the room door for it to cool off. Yes the hallway air conditioning was working great. 2. There was a big roach that made it's home in the upper part of the bathroom metal door frame (hole). Didn't really bother me but my sister had to forgo the morning shower as she thought it might jump on her. Anyway I understand stuff happens but it hurts the reputation of the HIE brand. For cases like this I always look at the manager not the guys who should be fixing it because the manager is the one who should be checking them and making sure everything is up to standard. But if this is the HIE standard your doing fine. Smaller issues were we found hairs on 2 pillow cases upon check in and the bed spreads were wrinkled like they had been used and not changed for new guests. The pillow cases we had changed. The bed spreads we gave them the benefit of the doubt.

We did have our maintenance engineer check the issue with the a/c and unfortunately he thought the issue was corrected. I apologize if it wasn't. We did have the exterminator come and look at the room and he found no traces of any type of bugs in the bathroom or main bedroom. Our Executive Housekeeper inspects all rooms after the housekeeper has finished cleaning. I have printed your review for her and our other staff to let them know your feedback on the quality of the sheets and pillowcases to ensure that this does not happen to any future guests. Again, I do apologize for any inconvenience and I do hope to see you again should you ever travel to the Carlisle area on your future travels. Best Regards, Julie R Front Office Manager

Warm friendly greeting, clean comfortable room.

Pros: Pool and hot tub. Restaurant recommendation. Pancake-making machine at breakfast.
Cons: Really ... can't think of anything to improve upon.
From the moment we arrived till we departed the staff was friendly and helpful. We were greeted with complimentary drinks and snacks upon our arrival. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub which were very clean and well-maintained. Our room was tidy and comfortable and quite and the dinner recommendation to a local restaurant was perfect. They provided an extensive list of near-by restaurants for us to choose. Holiday Inn Express is well known for their complimentary well- presented breakfasts. The children were entertained by the pancake-making machine. This is certainly something they will remember. The next time we travel through central Pennsylvania we will make a point of returning to this Holiday Inn Express.

Reasonable stay

Reasonably good stay. Nothing outstanding good or bad about this hotel compared to other HIEs. The food at breakfast was among the poorer aspects, but not terrible.

Fine for a short stay.

Front desk ok. Shower was bad, plugged shower head. Elevator slow and not clean.

Great Hotel, warm large pool

We just stopped thru late at night but it was a clean hotel, warm pool, friendly staff, I would recommend staying there, believe me my wife's a clean freak and finds something wrong with every place and she enjoyed her stay here
