Definitely not worth the price

This hotel was a real disappointment; at over $200 a night I did not expect to end up in a room smelling of cigarettes even though it was supposed to be nonsmoking. There was dirty laundry piled in the reception area...will never stay in an Extended Stay again.

Unclean and slow to respond to needs...

Cons: The cleanliness.
You get what you pay for... My toddler peed in the bed the first night and when I asked the front desk if they had any vinegar or other way to take care of it ASAP with housekeeping they told me that maintenance had heavy chemicals to deal with it and they would take care of it that day. And they told me housekeeping would re-make the bed. When we returned at 8pm from Legoland all day it was obvious that nobody had been in the room - the soiled sheets were still on the floor and the bed was still wet with urine. Apparently maintenance did not show up to work that day. I asked for a new mattress or new room. They said no and just threw a mattress cover and new sheets on the bed. So both my kids slept in my small bed with me. Not happy. It made me wonder how many kids had peed on the beds and how many dangerous chemicals cover it up. The "kitchen" had no supplies - we had to specifically ask for them. The lids to the pots and pans did not fit. It was really dirty and nobody was ever at the front desk to help. I would not stay there again.

Worst hotel ever!

I reserved and paid for 2 nights KING NON SMOKING! When I got there at 11 pm ( the end time to check in is 12am)! Vanessa - the receptionist said there is no room for you! After a while of complaining that EXPEDIA already charged me and you said there is no room? So she look around and said there is a room but someone already check in and complaint that it smelled smoking! Do you want it? To the point, at 11:30 pm I had to accept it and deal with it ! What a worst experience ever!

We asked for extra blankets and was told that they didn't have any. When we inquired more the employee said everything was being washed and it would be two hours and we would have to come down and get them. One of our rooms smelled like cigarette smoke. When we complained upon arrival, we were given Febreeze to spray in the room. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable. The rooms were clean. It was like camping inside.

Hallway smells from other guests cooking. Some staff not very knowledgeable. Not in a neighborhood I would walk around at night.

Front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming! Wood floor rooms, very reasonably priced hotel for the area. Right in Carlsbad Village! Like my stay a lot.

DIRTY

I found dirty rags on the bathroom counter and a hair tie on the ground. The room was freezing when we arrived. Room felt dirty.

Not what Was expected

This was nothing like any Extended Stay I have ever stayed at. The breakfast was the absolute worse. There was no fruit and nothing for a kid to drink! There were no dishes in our room. We were told on check in that there is no room service or house cleaning. There was not even a blow dryer or extra pillows. This was not what I was expecting at an Extended Stay. I will say location is the one saving grace! It is right down in Carlsbad Village and that was very nice.

Decent hotel but very worn out

Staff was super friendly and courteous. Bed was very comfortable. Slept like a baby. I didn't like that the countertops were worn out and stained all over, or that the kitchenette and bathroom had one trashcan to share. Very gross. Hair care product from last occupant was left in the room. An overall pungent smell was abundant in the room when we first walked in. However, the convenience of location was very accommodating.

Horrible

After waiting for 30 minutes for the employee to let us into the hotel, we went to the room which was filthy. There were stains on the bedding and the nonsmoking room smelled of smoke. We didn't stay in the room.
