Nice hotel, short walk to downtown area

Posted Mar 30, 2018
Pros: Location was good, and not being right in the center of town it was good value. Staff very pleasant, room comfortable and very clean.
Cons: On the first day the water from shower was lukewarm. Maybe the water tank/heater for the facility struggles if many guests are using at same time.
Location: Close to downtown Carmel which is a lovely town, interesting European style architecture. Short drive to Monterey, scenic drive, Point Lobos, etc
Upon arrival at the hotel we were greeted by a pleasant young man at the front desk. Check-in was quick, coffee, cookies available at reception. Parts of the room showing its age, however everything was fully functional and very clean. The king size bed was very comfortable. Large(ish) LG TV worked fine. Continental breakfast (muffin, croissant, yogurt, apple, banana, orange juice) arrived each day at the door and was adequate and meant we didn't end up paying $$ for breakfast in town. Had a view out of the kitchenette window to the ocean in the far distance. Kitchenette had microwave, Kurig coffee machine and fridge. Nice looking pool on-site but didn't get to use it. Garden area next to pool. A short 5 min walk to the shops and restaurants. About 10 to 15 mins to the beach, some parking available at the beach if you don't want to walk. The walk back from the beach is quite steep.

Nice hotel and walking distance to shops and beach

Posted Mar 30, 2018
Shops and beach are close to hotel. I liked the extra kitchen space, fireplace, and breakfast delivered to the door. Good price in March. Only complaint was saggy bed and heater that made knocking noise all night.

Reasonably priced hotel close to downtown Carmel

Posted Mar 26, 2018
It was reasonably priced and well located within blocks of Ocean Avenue and the beach. The room was clean and they served a nice continental breakfast to your door each morning with the newspaper. All in all very comfortable and inviting.

Good room in a pleasant motel

Posted Mar 22, 2018
Pros: Nice welcome with the tea or coffee with cookies and room size is good
Cons: Breakfasts are a little on the small side with just 1 pastry and a muffin to share between 2 with yogurt and fruit.
Location: Central location for Carmel but don't expect to find anything open to eat past 10 pm
Excellent king sized bed in a good room with plenty of space. The gas - log fire was a nice touch but the bathroom probably needs a little updating and why is the sofa where it is in the room? Altogether a good experience in a pleasant motel.

Great location

The hotel is in a great location. It's an older hotel and the double beds are tiny, but the people who work there could not be nicer.
