Cosy, clean and great base for exploring Carmel

Really enjoyed our two nights here...friendly staff, clean but homely accommodation. Nice facilities, and a few bars and restaurants around the corner.

quaint retro lodge

Pros: Location and retro feel
Cons: Maybe if I was staying more than one night I might suggest improvements, but none for me, but I am not a picky person..
Location: golf, eat ,wine taste, scenic drive
Stayed just one night for a golf tournament. Room was good. Bathroom small but adequate for what we needed. Nice deck with lounge chairs off our balcony. Right off the main street. Able to walk down to the main street to look at restaurants wine tasting venues. Very quaint. Nice heated pool, ping pong, hot tub and large lounge library with piano, reading material, coffee tea. Very relaxing, peaceful, quiet.

Loved our stay

We had a wonderful stay at blue sky lodge. We thought it was charming, in convenient part of town and the bed was super comfortable . It had everything we needed for our stay. We really appreciated it being pet friendly as we were able to take our puppy and the staff were friendly and helpful. We will be back

Needs major TLC

It is such a shame that this hotel is in such need of TLC! I can only imagine it in its heyday, as the location is perfect and grounds look like they once were beautiful. But honestly speaking, this hotel is in vast need of updating. The rooms are ancient, old curtains that are somewhat tattered, walls and bathroom that should be remodeled. Whoever owns this place should be ashamed, as there is a hidden gem that needs polishing in this Inn. Also, the room was a heatbox when we arrived. During summer months, someone needs to turn on the AC a few hours before guests arrive.

Comfy hotel close to wine tasting

Spacious rooms with comfy beds. The heater is in the bathroom (keep children away!!!) which is a bit strange to me. Pleasant stay.

Enjoyed our stay. Lovely location and good base. Liked: Location, large kitchen comfy bed, nice garden and pool, upgraded without fuss Disliked: Rooms quite old and in need of modernisation. Large gap between door (to outdoors) and floor and had many small ants in bed. They left in the evening when temperature dropped but had approx 10 ants in bed each morning. Also expensive for what it is (during weekend) - however still cheapest around! No wifi in room

We are glad you enjoyed your stay and sorry about the ants as our property is in the country we are constantly battling insects with regular treatments we will address the maintenance issues in the room right away.

Steps to town , peaceful sanctuary

It is an older property needs update, yet staffs are very friendly and helpful, peaceful surrounding and walking distance to town made up for the negative. Pool and spa are clean and nice.

Great "rural hotel" near Carmel, CA

What a nice little hotel in a gorgeous "rural area" near Carmel, CA. Both office staff members were very helpful and the hotel grounds and pool area are nicely maintained. The town itself is cute as can be and has several small cafes with outside seating and a couple of nicer restaurants for more formal dining.
