Uncooperative staff, aging building

I spoke to three different staff members during my 3 night stay and was surprised each time how consistently inconsiderate their customer service skills and attention to detail was delivered. The building is falling apart and paint coming off the walls. Smelled as if animals frequently urinate. They do allow pets.

Convienen stop over location

Great stop over location on our way to another location. The hotel is located right off the highway. Gas stations and places to eat nearby. The breakfast buffet at the hotel was great and it is clear staff take pride in serving guests.

We were in NJ for a funeral. It was a stressful trip & before I left, was hoping there would be no trip problems. Everything went very well.

Warm, helpful, no-hassle reception. Very clean room. Good free breakfast. Convenient to major highways.

I travel extensively for work and I strive to continually provide world-class customer service to my clients...it's too bad that other company's don't and go the extra-mile for you. Upon check-in I requested a room that wasn't on the ground floor. I was advised that they didn't have any rooms available. Seriously, your hotel had no rooms available on the second or third floor? Not one? Sure, super safe to have a single female traveler on the ground floor. I would have downgraded my room if needed but apparently that wasn't even an option. Thanks for the hospitality. When I finally do enter my room I am initially greeted with a spider on the wall by the light switch - who promptly became part of the wall paper. Later that same evening I found Charlotte's little brother - who also met the same fate. Other than check-in the only other time I interacted with the front desk staff was upon check-out, where I once again felt as though I was burdening them by accepting my room keys. There's are reason why I don't enjoy staying at Holiday Inn Express, and this only continues to solidify that I should spend a little more money and just stay at a Hilton brand hotel where I am greeted with a smile and always feel as though my comfort matters to them.

Stop Over

Just a brief stop between, and the hotel was great. Nice place, close to the highway. The room was comfortable and clean and we'd stop there again.
