Great location warm and welcoming feel. Loved the farm shop. Hotel good standard. Just 2 niggles 10am departute far to early should be at least 11am . Sound proofing not very good room 19 i could hear snoaring etc. But certainly would not stop reutn vist. Ladt point in hpuse restaurant meals a bit expensive especially breakfast when a 5 min walk you can get a good breafzst for far lrss

Hotel off the motorway perfect on road trip
our first time here and the location was excellent just off the motorway .easy check in and had a lovely relaxed dinner at the hotel .very pleased

due to the snow an unexpected stay - lovely hotel, fabulous food and great staff. Big rooms, great views, huge fire in reception most welcoming. and very dog friendly. will stay again if possible

Welcoming Stopover
I have been staying at westmoreland Hotel about 4 times a year for the last 14 years, and do not recall anything I would change, nor complain Bout. It is a wonderful and most welcoming stopover on my joirnies from the far north to the far south to visit my family.

Great hotel. Architecture angular with defined offsets. Water feature outside really pleasant even in the rain. Oh dear. Came down for breakfast. HALF a bacon rasher, HALF a mushroom no toast or beans unless you requested it. Basically a childs portion. Go into their service station and you get a FULL English breakfast for less than the price in the hotel. And I mean FULL ENGLISH. ☹️

Perfect night stop on our journey north
Booked for a night stop on our journey north. The hotel is in a beautifully quiet, scenic location. Hard to believe it is just off the M6. Rooms are a good size, beds are probably the best ever, so comfortable! The homemade biscuits and bottled water are a welcome touch. Restaurant serves a good selection of delicious homemade meals. Staff are all very welcoming. Really can’t fault this place.

Great but a few negatives
Lovely hotel and good breakfast. Negatives for me were having to book a specific time for breakfast, the room being unbearably hot and being told ‘I’ll see if we have any fans left’ (thankfully they did but had they not I wouldn’t have been able to stay) and no choice of pillows - all feather style which offer no support.

Bit like a posh Premier inn - we love Tebay - it has the right balance of smart, clean, comfortable, quality and really good-sized rooms...but without the cold friendless atmosphere of hotels that try too hard and charge a fortune for it. Tebay for us is the perfect balance - good food too, although dining options a bit limited; wanted lamb, but it only came with black pudding. You'd never know you were just off M6 (not so keen on the shopping area - noisy and over-priced with food left open to people and flies)
