The Front Desk manager treated my wife as a prostitute daring to ask for her cell number as he was leading her upstairs to our Suite! She only told me this lately, otherwise I would have confronted the person. With the high category of this hotel your staff should be reserved, respectful and protective of the high level clientelle. Such cheap behaviour by a member of your staff is degrading, offensif, out of place and betrays the trust we as clients place upon you! it is a pity that such otherwise beautiful premises are demolished by such missplaced acctions.

Beautiful Boutique Hotel. Excellent personalized service. Area of Montevideo (Carrasco) is high end residential yet has great shopping and restaurants.

Well located hotel, three blocks from the beach, 20 minute taxi-ride from airport. Board bus to Independence Square (fare is less than 50 pesos apiece and driver gives change) literally across the street from the hotel; bus stop on return trip is a few blocks away. Spacious room and bathroom, amenities include in-room mini-fridge and safe, lovely balcony, fine Continental breakfast included. Staff very helpful. Good restaurant in the hotel, many more within a few blocks walking.

The hotel is not a five star hotel. The hotel needs a major upkeep! from painting to replacing the worn out carpets. Old bathrooms. Old heating system without a thermostat gauge that can be set by the user! The hotel staff is very nice.

Wonderful staff, lovely furnishings and comfortable room. Would recommend and stay again. Too short a stay to explore all options. Exercise room and pool not tried. Breakfast buffet very fresh and varied. Need car to fully enjoy getting about Carrasco.

This hotel is anchored in a time gone by. It is clean and spacious, however, the restaurant staff is "snooty" and seems to be too self-preoccupied to attend to the guests. Everyone was quick to show a polite smile but they really did not want to be bothered by the guests. That is, they responded only to direct requests and there was no effort to see what was needed.

Pleasent, quiet, well appointed, little expensive for food and drinks. Only issue was the night bar staff. Had to get up from our table for times to get our drink order and check! All other staff was great.

Excellent hotel 10 mins from MVD center
The Belmont is a great property and I will return every year. Hopefully the management will embrace continuous improvement and keep after the normal wear of their facilities as well as providing for automatic corridor lighting so the light entering through the gaps around the doors won't keep us from getting a good rest. This will also reduce electricity usage. Staff is friendly and customer focused, but kitchen needs to consider special needs such as lactose free and gluten free products as well as a variety of egg options in addition to the least healthy option (scrambled), whic h is the only option provided. An excellent hotel outside of noisy MVD center but still easily reached with public or private transport in less than 10 minutes.

Lovely colonial type hotel
Lovely hotel with colonial feel. Great breakfast, very friendly staff and apart from the an electrical fire incident in my bathroom all was fine and I would certainly recommend to others. The area is excellent, far better than the centre of town which is rather scruffy

Feels Like Being Home ~ Almost
Limited parking/narrow drive at the entrance. Attentive bell boy. Front desk staff spoke no English. Beautiful architecture/situated in the midst of nicest area of Montevideo. Wrought iron fence all around/gates for security purposes ~ beautiful mature vegetation along fence for privacy. Beautiful interior but common area lights off most of the time. Room was comfortable/king size bed/sliding French doors opened to a well manicured lawn. Neighborhood sidewalk just on the other side of the wrought iron fence which was less than 50 feet from room. People/dogs strolled by. Sounds of neighborhood children/lawn mowers. Bathroom had tub/shower/heated towel rack/long vanity/bidet and functional window with exterior wrought grid. Closet with safe/mini bar/frig. Maids extremely thorough/well maintained outdoor pool. Restaurant/waiters/food excellent. Security cameras all over. Guests are mostly affluent adults.

We were scheduled for a 7:30am flight from Montivideo airport which is 10-15 minutes from the hotel at 6am. We requested a taxi transfer. The hotel provided a car, not a commercial car, for $35US. We had been advised the prior evening, a taxi was $15-20US. We do not recommend the hotel based on mistrust of their policies.

Charming Small hotel
I have stayed here on my way into or on my way out of MVD. IT is a charming small hotel, quite as a churchyard, in a quite neighborhood. Great place to unwind before doing business or after. During summer and fall, the outdoor pool sets it aside from all the indoor pools in the chain hotels.

Beautiful little gem of a hotel in a very impressive residential neighborhood of large estate homes. Quiet, traditional and very comfortable. Easy walk to restaurants, casino, and the beach. About 15 minutes from the airport.

i have stayed at this hotel many times over the years. the service has always been impeccable, the value, the dining room the swimming pool in summer, the bar etc.. start the day with a deluxe breakfast,included, and all in all you can imagine that this is home away from home, except with excellent service

An oasis of serenity in a secluded area of the city of Montevideo. the proximity to the airport is always nice, whilst at the same time, walking access, (10 minutes) from a shopping avenue, "arocena" where a traveler can find, banks, restaurants supermarkets and boutiques for just about everything including pets.

Located in an upscale neighborhood of Carrasco, this hotel delivers great service in a boutique hotel style, room I stayed was big and comfortable, People are always nice and helpful, Restaurant and bar with good selection. the downsize is internet which I had problems with the connection everyday and when I was connected speed was slow, they have a room they call gym but is very limited, but pool area is great. I felt price was a little high other than that I would stay on this place again.

Uruguay has a policy of no-smoking indoors - it was obvious that the room (8) had been a smoking room at one time as there was a slight lingering smell of smoke. The was the reason for the reduced rating in Condition of Hotel and Comfort of room. The bathroom floors were tiled and heated and quite comfortable. The breakfast was included and was very nice. I definitely will try to stay there again on future visits.

Best neghborhood in town.
It didn't feel like a 5 stars hotel. Safe is located on the floor inside a small closet and they have to bring the lock to you, carpet needs to be replaced ASAP. TV is almost impossible to make it work without calling three times to the receptionist. Internet wasn't working in the room. I had to go outside the room to have service. Positives: very friendly people and nice bathroom.We would stay again.

Most definitely this is NOT a five (as stands on hotel) or four star hotel, 3 to 3.5 max. Staff is so uninterested, can't say that they are lazy, and you literally have to chase them to make an order and to ask for a check. WiFi is far from OK, except in lobby. Pool was horrible with murky water. On checkout there was a $10 mistake with minibar, but eventually they didn't charged us... Unfortunately, they charged us $15 for two coffees, my bad - just signed the bill. Overall, good location out of downtown, quiet and cosy.
