Fine for the price

Posted Jan 14, 2017
Stayed for a couple nights during a rainy, snowy, icey weekend in January for a nearby family get together. Staff was nice and seemed relaxed since its obviously off season. Most of the time when going in and out of the lobby we didnt see anyone or it'd be a pleasant hello and that was just fine with us. Room was clean on arrival, no frills. Basic necessities are provided minus a microwave which we were hoping for. We had a top room floor and the window in the room has 3 glass window panels. We were hoping to open the middle one (looked like it would open)to let a little air in and to see the view a bit better because the middle window panel was either cleaned very poorly, not cleaned or had a bunch of condensation between the glass that made it super foggy. So the view isn't great because of that middle window..look to the side and you can see some beautiful winter landscape. We brought an extra blanket for home in case we got stuck in the snow on the way to and from Carson city. The blanket on the bed (plus 2 sheets) is verrry thin. I understand the hotel has extra blankets but...I've worked in similar hotels as this and the extra blankets are just more of those thin old blankets that are in between the sheets on the bed..We ended up using this extra blanket we brought and that was warm enough. The king beds are huge and comfy. Tv worked great. No carson city tourism information in the rooms which would have been helpful. Would stay again if need be, price is right.

Very windy night and windows & door rattled in the wind. Hotel is old and run down although it was clean.

Wonderful staff, nice accommodation.

The hotel staff are wonderfully accommodating. Not many extras, have to request hair dryer and microwave, but received both promptly. Great location. Older hotel but very charming.

A Great Bet in a Gambling Town

Posted Nov 26, 2016
Pros: Clean, inexpensive, close to everything.
Cons: Perhaps a little bigger table or desk. And with all older places, more power outlets.
Location: Be on the lookout for Mustangs and Deer. Soak in the Carson City Hot Springs. Have a nightcap at the Old Globe Saloon with Gabby!
I was visiting old friends and just needed a convenient, inexpensive center of operations. Great little no frills place right downtown near everything. Breakfast on your own. No writing desks but clean and comfy.

Just Okay

Posted Oct 25, 2016
Pros: Location, price and has an elevator
Cons: stale smoke smell in hallways and also in room. Bed was too soft. One of our rooms did not have a hook on the bathroom door (the other did).
Location: Great location. Can walk to eateries, etc. Comma Coffee is a great coffee/tea place..so unique, a must view. Both Heidi's and Adele's were great.
For the most part the hotel was okay for two nights. However, in the future I would choose another hotel. VERY loud music was played at 5am. Thought it was from parking lot, perhaps someone coming in but that wasn't the case. Must've been coming from a room below us. Was totally unacceptable. Went on for some time then finally was abruptly turned off. There needs to be a secure wifi site offered. A bit concerning the type of "guests" that were staying at the hotel. Room doors didn't seem very secure and safe.

Hotel stay

Stayed at this hotel for three days. Smells old. Dark hallways. Room are clean. Staff was friendly. Used a hotel room for a gym. Equipment was to big for the room. Tread machine faced away from the tv
