Near everything but not in the middle of everything. Quiet street, and beautiful surroundings! Staff was very attentive. For the price, the place was great, the pool was awesome and the food was good (small servings, but that's common in the area).

Quiet Hotel/Good Value
Location is excellent if you enjoy peace & quiet. Very close to everything you’ll want: restaurants, bars, banks, groceries, the beach. Check in was a breeze. Room overlooked the pool and was clean, had hot water, good ac and a mini fridge. Pool area is lovely except for the hard-as-rocks S-shaped lounge chairs. Opt for a table instead. Check out also a breeze. Professional & friendly staff too!! Walkable area at night with easy access to taxi’s to/from Old town & Getsemani. Note with the hot/cold water: you only get one at a time which made showers a bit dangerous because the hot is boiling.

The place was convenient walking distance from the beach it’s served it’s purpose front desk were very helpful being from the US they set up the Covid test rapid results in less than two hours staff was super friendly really wasn’t a language barrier between American and Spanish I highly recommend great price convenient I had no issues

I could not sleep at night because of loud music from the club across the hotel. The traffic in the street is equally loud. On Saturday, there were a group of men blasting their music from outside the hotel until 5am. Clearly, the hotel has very bad sound insulation. If you plan to get a night sleep then dont stay here. The safe is outdated, the AC unit is outdated and runs without ever stopping. And this humming adds to outside noise to make it a nightly Sonic torture. If you plan to sleep at night, dont stay here. The place is very clean however. The staff is nice and helpful.

I had problems from the beginning with the hotel manager, an old bad tempered woman, and the desk check in person, also an old woman. The room I checked into was filthy and the shower had only two settings. Cold and scalding hot. No in between. The toilet also did not flush and the A/C was stuck on one position. When I brought this to the attention of the woman at the desk she said she would get to it later. I ask to speak to the manager and she came to the front and the two had a quick conversation in Spanish that I did not understand and then the manager turned to me with a rude and aggressive behavior telling me that this was not the United States and that I would have to learn to accept things the way they were. I could not believe this and asked if I could cancel my reservation and I would go to a different hotel. She pulled out my reservation and preceeded to waive it in my face and laughed saying that I could leave whenever I wanted but that since I used Expedia the money was not refundable and they would keep the money even if I left. Even the desk lady had a smile at her managers actions and words. This was just within the first hours of my arrival things were worse over the next four days. Any request was met with a sideways glance and huff and I eventually stopped asking for anything and just counted the days to leave that horrible hotel. AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS I have never been treated this way and I have traveled the world and stayed at countless hotels.

I love the style; pure 50s South Beach. The staff were pleasant and helpful, though management seemed rather scarce. In 4 days I saw what seemed to be a manager twice, briefly. There were mosquitos in the otherwise nice open-air restaurant. Small ones, and I don't think they were the Zika-carrying kind, but I was surprised that considering the current scare, management doesn't seem too concerned about this. I mean, it's not that hard to get rid of mosquitos if you put your mind to it. All of this might explain why the place was mostly deserted when I was there. It's kind of sad - they have a big restaurant and a nice terrace bar area, but almost no guests or customers. And it was clear that this is the usual state of things. Ordering any kind of cocktail or food required staff to make trips to some faraway kitchen or prep area to fetch basic things like ice or limes. They obviously don't expect much business. And it's not so fun to sit around a deserted place. Overall, the facility is nice, but this hotel seems to suffer from some kind of malaise. Maybe more energy from management would help. I spent a few days at a similar-level hotel around the corner before moving to the Bahía, and that one was quite bustling.

I first arrive at hotel and they lose power no backup electricity. The towel on bathroom floor was wet!! The toilet seat had a sanitary paper indicating it was clean, however toilet seat gas pee on it. The condition of the room was not great. The bed was like sleeping on a rock, I am not joking. And very low, any lower I would have been on the floor. I canceled my last 2 days there and went somewhere else. The staff was pleasant and pool was clean!! But the food for breakfast was horrible too. If your reading this my advise is to look for other hotels and read reviews. There are plenty of great hotels in Cartagena

Staff helped me decide on a Islas Rosario tour and were all friendly. I don't actually know if they speak English, as I spoke with them in Spanish. The pool is great, though the lounger seats aren't very comfortable. My first impression was unfortunately of the strong-smelling cleaner they use in the lobby (too common in Colombia). Don't worry, the rooms smell fine.

This is one of those hotels that has seen better days. The pool makes it three stay but the rooms are not so nice. Cruddy tile floors even had brown substance on them that looked like excrement and bits of mop string. Smells come through the A/C vents including bathroom odors. Front desk sold us a rather ghetto tour including drunkard student tourists.

It scored tops on all these. Only odd thing was other reviewers raved about breakfast, while I could hardly see mine due not traveling with a microscope.

the staff is very accommodating and extremely attentive, i had a surgery and my mobility was limited but they made it easier 4 me. The hotel is clean and well kept, The manager is always accessible, walking around the property and making contact with guests. very nice big pool, great food, the location is just perfect 2 blocks from Beach,short ride 2 historical center. will come back 4 sure

Great little place in Bocagrande
This is a lovely little hotel, though a bit overpriced (I think that's because it was the highest of the high season). Anyway...super helpful staff, great pool area, clean though not large rooms, and the lobby is like something straight out of 1962 (but in a good way). Well located, close to the beaches in Bocagrande. I will stay here again next time I'm in Cartagena.

I stayed at Hotel Bahia because I changed my travel plans and needed a place to stay for one night before I could check in to my other hotel. The location in Boca Grande was pretty good as it was one block away from the Hotel Caribe and two blocks from the beach, but there is not much to do in Boca Grande in the first place. There was a nice pool at the hotel and the beds were comfortable. Unfortunately, I had requested a non smoking room and the only room that was given to me smelled of stale cigarettes. The bathroom was very small, but was clean and had good water pressure. While there was free wifi, it was only available in the lobby. Overall, the hotel was fine for a basic place to sleep for one night, but I wouldn't recommend it for a longer stay.

The hotel was conveniently located. The beach was a few short blocks away and there were plenty of restaurants and shops in the immediate vicinity. The staff was very friendly but didn't speak too much English. The rooms were a little small. The bathrooms were clean and there was plenty of hot water and great water pressure. DO NOT get laundry service. For a small bag of clothes, they wanted to charge me $40. They also push the day excursions without revealing all details (travel time, etc) Overall, it was a good, relaxing stay. The pool was medium size and kept clean. The wi-fi was consistent, but it only worked in the lobby area. I would recommend to anyone looking for a bargain hotel in Cartagena.

Hotel Bahia in Bocagrande
Great location essentially on the 'border' of Bocagrande and El Laguito. Very friendly staff. Really comfortable bed and a nice shower. The only things I didn't like was that I had to ask for ice and that they charged for local calls, which had to be made through the front desk instead of directly from my room.

I stayed in this hotel 1 night as a lay-over. The hotel is in need of renovations. In my room, the water pressure was very bad. Trying to take a shower, it was either very cold or extremely hot. To avoid a burn, I chose the cold. There was a loose tile on the floor, and the toilet barely flushed. Actually, when the toilet was used for not the yellow use, it barely flushed and we were stuck with an increasing odour. We notified the hotel and at first insisted there were no other rooms and we would need to remain there and not use the toilet until it could be repaired the next day. Eventually realizing the circumstances, my girlfriend and I were given a room with 2 single beds. Not the ideal situation, but since they insisted that all rooms were full. Which was amazing to me since the whole day and night I only saw maybe 3 other guest. After I booked this hotel, I was told by a local that the Coral Reef Hotel, just a block down was a better choice. Also, must be careful of the elevator, since it does not sit correctly. You either have to step up to it, or down into it.
