    Got charged twice

This is a cozy hotel in a great location. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly and the breakfast is good. Notice that there are no room pictures included that is because the rooms are very small. I would still would have recommended this hotel if they had not charged me twice. I booked thru Orbitz, Orbitz got my American Exp credit card info. When we checked in they asked for payment info. I gave them my mastercard, I couldn't remember which card I had used on the Orbitz site. They went ahead and charged to both cards. Before we left the hotel, I asked them to reverse the charge on the AmEx. 5 days later, I still see no credit and they are asking for proof from me as if they don't know what they collected. I know eventually, I can get the extra charges reversed but the hassle is aggravating. I can understand an honest mistake but it shouldn't be this hard to get the charge reversed. A professional hotel management would never do this.

    Pros: The location

Cons: The rooms are very small.

Location: Easy walking distance to a lot of things.

Charming, small hotel in the walled city

The hotel is really lovely. It is exceptionally clean and the staff are lovely, very warm and welcoming, and always able to help. Overall, the staff have driven my final rating, as they really are an asset to the hotel. They managed to provide an iron at the last minute for a wedding I was attending, as well as arrange for me to travel rob Santa Marta. As a solo traveller I felt very safe in this hotel, as it is small and secure. The breakfast is simple but tasty, and very prompt. The pool is secluded and well maintained, and there is a lovely terrace on the roof.

Shouldn't be call a boutique hotel

Arrived and was told Expedia did not request a handicap room for us. I was given a suit with two beds paying $40K Colombian pesos more and asked to use only one bed not two as I requested. The owner of the hotel was very helpful giving info about local restaurants. The hotel looks pretty clean, however when lights went off roaches came out at the Kitchenet and bathroom. I calmly reported it to the owner. I did not request to be moved to another room as I assumed that all rooms would have roaches. I was not going to allow this insident to ruin my last night vacation, so I kept my suite case locked at all the time to avoid bringing roaches back home.

    A wonderful choice! HIGHLY recommended!

We had a wonderful time at Casa Gloria! All of the staff were so kind and amazing. Julieta at the desk was so helpful with all of our questions and needs. Marlene and Patricia were THE BEST chefs for breakfast. Always served us delicious food. They were so kind. Ever was so helpful as well, always getting the door and helping with our bags. We felt like we were at home during our entire stay at Casa Gloria. The room was always clean. And the air conditioning worked GREAT! There is a cute patio on the roof with a nice view. The only downside is that the hotel doesn't sell drinks, but there is a shop right across the street for any snack/beverage needs. The hotel itself is close to lots of places in the old city. We were never more than a 15 minute away. There are tons of great restaurants and shops nearby. We highly recommend this hotel if you are ever in Cartagena.

    Boutique Casa Gloria

Wonderful and boutiquish Casa Gloria is located in the San Diego area of centro historico. At check-in, the outstanding manager at the front desk was so helpful and provided a free map of centro and give me great advice about restaurants and sights to visit. She spoke perfect English which was greatly appreciated. There is a small pool in the center courtyard and my room was on the second floor. There is also a hot tub on the third floor or roof of the building. My room and bathroom were very clean and there is air con, cable TV, and WiFi. Breakfast each morning included coffee, fruit juice, a plate of fruit, cook to order eggs, and bread. Overall, my experience was delightful and I would highly recommend lovely Casa Gloria for your visit to Cartagena.
