Beautiful hotel ruined by chain smoking neighbors

Hotel and staff were very nice - with the exception of the pool bar trying to add on charges for items not ordered or received. What ruined our experience was our chainsmoking Portugese neighbors - we had a nice balcony with a sea view, but they engulfed it in smoke all morning, afternoon, evening and late after midnight. We tried to have some wine and snacks on our balcony but had to go inside each time.

Very helpful booking excursions. Had to pay in order to use the room safe. Breakfast was included so that was a plus.

Hotel is comfortable but needs an update. Not 4*.

Pros: Pool area, bar outside, staff very nice and helpful.
Cons: Shuttle bus only runs Monday to Friday and there is a big gap in times during lunch hour. Furniture needs to be modernised in bedrooms .
Location: Bakery very good nearby and supermarket very convenient. Taxi service good.
Bed room furniture very poor and old fashioned. Twin beds were fairly comfortable and clean. Room described as one double bed and 2 single beds by Expedia but in fact only twin room with extremely flimsy fold up bed for a child. Reception told us they had no such rooms as described by Expedia. We went with Expedia for this reason . We found this very disappointing. Balcony furniture very old and uncomfortable. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was adequate but the tea and coffee appalling, served from an old fashioned machine - stone cold and a big queue every morning. We didn't eat at night in the restaurant as it seemed extremely empty and lacking in atmosphere. The pool was very nice and the bar area outside very nice.

Recent stay at Pestana Ocean Hotel

The Pestana was was clean and comfortable if a little in need of renovation especially bedroom which had a chair with frayed upholstery and a broken plug.However the staff were really helpful and courteous.The shuttle bus up and down to railway station was very useful and made traveling in to Lisbon and Belem very easy.Breakfast and dinner were good.

Beautiful Area, Bad Hotel!!!

This hotel has to be older than dirt!!! Maid only made the bed and didn't clean the bathroom. My mother had her necklace stolen from her bag. Security comes up and said we should have used the safe. Every safe in the has had the lock taken out of it. Breakfasts buffet was lousy. Beautiful Area, bad hotel.

Excellent in terms of location in Cascais!

Pros: The whole package .it was in the location that we wanted to be - it had a swimming pool& gym - restaurant was good . The rooms were comfortable
Cons: The room we asked for was with a kitchenette but did not have a microwave !!! & the pictures showed a microwave
Location: Excellent - was very good for us
Over all very good - excellent location in Cascais .

The staff was amazing. They made our trip! The indoor pool was also heated so it was great to take the kids for a swim!

Pros: Nice rooms and very friendly staff
Cons: Pools where closed
Location: Cascais is 6/7 mins in a cab away which is the main resort
Nice comfortable hotel and very friendly staff though on arrival they tell us pool is closed for complete refurb which had obviously been going on for sometime rather than emailing and giving us a chance to find alternative as with 3 kids the pools where important they did however give us 2 free evening meals and the use of a nice pool at there sister hotel,don't be fooled by the pictures either it may be by the sea but there's no beach you have to go into cascais for that but there's lots of nice small beaches and the hotel do a free mini bus there and back every hour and cascais is a fantastic resort to visit
