"Very nice resort with a rustic feel. The staff is friendly and the grounds are well kept and nice. The beach is a mix of volcanic rock and sand. It’s a small resort, so with higher occupancy, it’s hard to impossible to get a chair on the beach, but we were at half- to two-thirds-occupancy most of the week. Big waves for surfing. Fun to play in as a non-surfer, but there were a few times at the ebbing of the ride that we had to stay out of the water due to a strong rip. The food was really good in the buffet - we were there for March Break, so peak season for mangoes and watermelon - and the grill chefs were top-notch, with ribs, chicken, steak, etc over the course of the week. No long lineups for omelettes or pancakes in the morning, or the grill offerings the rest of the day. We had to call down for bath mats a couple of times, and we had to get someone in three times to reset our safe (nothing missing from it though!). I had to call three times over 45 minutes once. They also didn’t restock the fridge a couple of times, but responded to calls. The rooms are kept cool-to-cold, with a blasting A/C and overhead fan, but turning off the A/C leads to a huge jump in humidity in the room, so recommend leaving it in through the day. Had sushi from Kyoto one night; limited selection, but top-notch. Liquor selection is limited, with higher-end stuff only available at a cost. The on-site shop is really pricey, so don’t forget anything. Would definitely return!"

"We stayed for almost a week. The staff are wonderful, the property is clean and tidy, the perfect place to unwind by the pool after various excursions. A short & safe block or two walk to the main shops. With about a dozen rooms, a great way to casually meet other travelers. The daily breakfast was wonderful. Really can't think of anything bad to say about this hotel. Richard the owner, Steve who served us breakfast, both great guys. Plan to stay here again during our next trip to Tamarindo "

"We really enjoyed our stay. The property is small and has a family-owned bed and breakfast feeling. The owner, Pavel, was delightful and helpful. The rooms were clean, spacious and beautiful. It’s about a short 5 minute walk in to town and is very quiet. The only sounds we heard were wildlife! Included breakfast in the morning was delicious as well. We would love to stay here again in the future. "
