Great hotel, fantastic location.

It is always great staying at The Excelsior. The location is fantastic and the staff truly wonderful. Special mention to the "bell boys" and front of house staff. The is always a great welcome for returning and new guests alike. The food in Dickens Bar is also worth a mention. Overall the hotel is great value for money.

Okay hotel but overrated.

They placed us on the lower level of the hotel on our first night. It was an eye level of Hongkong living where he had a view of a half naked man, people cleaning their apartments, hanging clothes on the rooftop. We requested for a room change the next day. The front desk were hesitant and asked why were requesting for the change. They gave us a better room with a better view of the harbor. The restaurant was a different story. The hostess seated us far frm the buffet area. I requested for the harbor view inside the restaurant. She said there was no room. I insisted to check and I found a couple of empty tables. I noticed that she was only sitting the Chinese people in the room with the view while foreigners are seated elsewhere. The hostess said that all of the random empty tables were reserved. The tables had no "reserved" sign. I asked for the manager immediately. The manager apologized and gave us the empty seats and table.

Good to Stay

Room is clean and spacious but a bit old. Nice service with complimentary late check out. Location is great, close to shopping mall and MTR.

Nice Hotel but not good customer service

This is our first time in Hong Kong. The hotels location was great. It is close to the Causeway bay MTR station which was convenient. There are plenty of shopping and places to eat around. The hotel itself was ok. The room we had was on the fifth floor facing the harbor. Not bad view. The size was ok I guess for Hong Kong standards. We checked in late night so check in was quick. However, after travelling in few other asian countries, checking in many different hotels, customer service in this hotel is disappointing. They are not as friendly and not as willing to help. They can be rude. Housekeeping there I think just cleans the obvious. Make bed and replace the towels, and take the trash out. There was a pill that fell one day and the next day, it was still there. The tub looks and has same dirt as how we left it before housekeeping. Replacement towel has some disgusting hair from other people. Bufft breakfast is horrible! Not enought good international options. Not worth the money.

Good hotel n location

First time stay in excelsior hotel and causeway bay. Great location cuz near Sogo, near a lot of street stores and alleys, 5 mins to MRT station and good night life. Food was just okay - breakfast unremarkable and room service food was poor and selection not great. It needed some better sitting or meeting areas. Service at the meeting area outside the coffee shop could have been improved. Rooms were very comfortable however I did not like the fixed glass partition in the tub.

The air condition in my room broke down on my first night. The hotel staff reacted well and provided me with a new room pretty swiftly. The hotel is generally clean, located very conveniently (probably less than a 5min walk to the MTR), and the hotel gym is huge. Overall a good stay.
