Lovely old home centrally located

Overnight stay on our drive from Phoenix to Seattle. Lots of restaurants within a short walk - very quiet home with a fabulous cooked breakfast.

Cats

Posted Jan 4, 2018 on Hotels
The staff is very friendly and helpful! The room was nice and very clean.... however.... they have a house cat and we are allergic to cats and the cat hair was on some shelves in our room... but thank goodness not on the sheets or bedding... the cat was always on the tables in the dinning room which really grossed us out! We will never go back.... everyone should know that animals are on the premises and they are free to roam.

Jamie, We are terribly sorry that your experience was less than you expected. We clearly state on our website that we are Pet Friendly and the majority of our guests love Carson and our labradors. We rescue animals and partner with Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab. They are part of our lives and the experience we provide in our home. We are puzzled by your comment because only 2 downstairs rooms are designated for guests with pets. Yes, Carson is being broken of a habit to go on tables. We sanitize our tables several time a day. We, as you stated, have very high cleanliness standards. Again we are sorry that we didn't fit your expectation of a pet free experience. Safe travels,

Wonderful Accommodations and Outstanding Breakfast

Posted Oct 2, 2017
Stayed for three nights. Donna was an fantastic cook and had wealth of information about Cedar City and the surrounding national parks. The house is located within walking distance of dining and centrally located between surrounding Bryce and Zion National Parks. We had to leave early the last day at 5 AM and Donna was kind enough to pack us a nice box of fresh cut fruit and home made muffins. Thank you Donna, Brian and Skylee, Ron and Janet

A different experience

Posted Sep 24, 2017
Always wanted to try a bed and breakfast. Now not so much. If you have tried this type of experience and enjoy it I'm sure you will enjoy this one. For us it was my wife's and I 21st wedding anniversary. We were on first floor and it was noisy with house traffic and then later in the day and night other guests. Had a hard time sleeping. Also they have animals. Both dogs and a cat. Did not mention this on web page. You could smell them (if you know what I mean). Other than that place was clean and well kept. The owner was a bit too talkative for our tastes, but other people didn't seem to mind. Not to mention their grand daughter running around the first day there. We left our kids at home for a reason... Well live and learn.

John, We are sorry that your experience was less than you anticipated. The B&B experience is just not for all people. This is our home and we share it with guests from all over the world. We cannot control the noise of guests coming and going. They do socialize with each other, that's part of the B&B experience. Our website does include our dogs, and we keep the house spotless. We have many guests that ask if the dogs can visit, and even sleep in their rooms. We do not allow this.Carson our cat and Butler gets his own reviews. Our granddaughter just moved to Cedar City and this is a temporary situation. Unfortunately, timing of your visit was not under the best conditions for you. We are sorry and hope you try us again.

Great Bed & Breakfast in Cedar City, Utah.

Posted Jun 12, 2017
Pros: It's not a hotel, it's a B&B for Pete's sake. See above comments
Cons: Nothing.
Location: See above.
Beautifully maintained historic home. No TVs in rooms so guests gathered in the parlor, on the porch, in the evenings and we had great conversations watching the sun set, sipping our wine. Our hosts were welcoming, thoughtful and served excellent breakfasts. Our room & bath was lovely, spacious and comfortable. We were a little too early for the Shakespeare Theatre season, another good reason to stay at Iron Gate which is walking distance from the Theatre. That and its location to Zion and many other sites of interest.

Thank you Debra. We love seeing our guests enjoy each others company. That's the best part of the B&B experience. Safe traveks, and come see us again.
