Nice hotel for the price

Pros: Ease of getting to. Close to main roads to get to mall and many other shopping areas.
Cons: Hot tub in working order. Coffee pots that were out to have been filled
Location: Close to Coralville mall, the U and Lake McBride.
Hotel was booked full for the weekend. Very reasonably priced. We did not have breakfast but it was a very busy area. Hot tub was out of order. Desk attendant when we checked in and out was very nice.

V. A Hospital not close.

Pros: Complimentary breakfast and employees very pleasant.
Cons: Room was clean and on first floor just not as expected.
Long ride to a hospital for procedure in early A.M., stain on Comforter and Sheer curtain.

Pros: Large rooms and clean and quite.
Cons: Better coffee makers
Location: It was a quite location but we were just there for the nite.
This was a very nice hotel. The room was large and had the frig and microwave.

Pros: Convenient, clean, affordable.
Location: Close to food, major interstate exchange and large mall. Easy access to univ of Iowa.
Quick overnight trip. Room was clean, quiet, comfortable. Staff attentive immediately when I couldn't get key to work (lol user error. Try the right room next time!!)

Nice Stay; Annoying Authorization Hold

Pros: Nice breakfast area with a variety of food to choose from; nice T.V. in the room
Cons: The authorization hold should come off faster
This was a nice stay for the most part; however, I think the room could have been cleaner. I needed to move one of the dressers, and there were a lot of dust bunnies and some dead bugs behind it. Also, you could hear pipes banging in the wall in the room I was in which was not a huge deal for me but may be for others. I didn't know what it was at first, so I asked the guy at the front desk to come check it out. He was very helpful and nice. All the staff were very friendly. However, I will probably not be staying at another AmericInn and cannot recommend it due to the 100 dollar authorization hold that took about a week to come off of my bank account. I've never had a hold for that long while staying at a hotel. All in all it was a minor inconvenience and did not "break the bank" for me, but I don't think a hold needs to last that long. I called AmericInn about it, and the lady on the phone told me that it depends on however you paid and that it can take 3-10 days for the hold to come off. I think AmericInn should definitely look into this and expedite the process so people don't have money tied up in a hold.

These issues we sometimes don't see until a guest brings them to our attention. I do apologize for the problems you had with the hold on your card. Our hotel does release the hold from your card day-of, however, it does usually take the banks more time to process, which is why the hold sometimes takes longer to come off.
