Be sure to bring your earplugs as the street is “festive “ til 6 am when the city sends out the cleaning crew to make the street respectable again.

So close fir everything really walkable fir everywhere BUT Lot of noise at night because a club or bar under my bed I can hear everything But Morning around 5 to 7 am the noise was for cleaning the streets very loud and scream noise So be aware of that

It was very friendly staff. The best part was the breakfast staff. The ladies went above and beyond and brought full breakfast to our room even though they didn't have to, each of the 3 days we were there! Everyone was extremely friendly and there was nice places to eat and drink on the other street so very convenient to stay there!

The staff were very friendly but this place is right in the middle of open bars and clubs that go until at least 3 am. If you sleep soundly, great, otherwise it’s rough. Room is very basic but clean. Had to sit sideways on the toilet to give you an idea of the tight squeeze. Great area during the day and close to many things.

This property had a great location, right near the famous bookstore and several of the iconic churches of Porto... BUT when I read about the noise complaints from other reviews I thought I could just sleep through it (I am a deep sleeper).... Their were people screaming, music blasted, and pretty much anything and everything noisy you could think of until 5 in the morning. SO NOISY.

Good afternoon, We thank you in advance for your comment, but unfortunately who controls the bars and clubs is the city all and this authorizes the noise until 5 am. For this reason, in our description we say that we are located in an area of bars.

The good stuff is that the hotel is right next to everything you need in the city ... you can easily walk to see most of the attractions the city has to offer. The down side is that the noise from nearby establishments goes on until about 0430 in the morning if you are lucky ... definitely recommend ear plugs ... if you are sensitive to bass vibrations too then give this place a miss. The en-suite in our room was extremely compact and being a larger kind of guy was a struggle sometimes. But on the whole ... given the price and convenience of the place ... it was OK overall.

Location was excellent. Noise was not so bad as it was said by others. There was no safe in the room and a note on the door saying if anything happens hotel takes no responsibility. And reception refuse to keep anything except passport. It didn't say it was with shared bathroom until I receive the confirmation. There were only 2 showers with an additional toilet to share with others, one of showers was broken and I had to hold it while I was using. There is no phone, no fridge, no sink and no mirror in the room. Breakfast was 3 pieces of bread with jam/butter and tea/coffee. Air-conditioning /TV were working.

As we are a Guest House we are not obligated to have safe neither fridge. When you made your reservation you chose shared bathroom, so the room has no sink or mirror. You received the confirmation after the reservation, it's not our fault. The showers are not broken, no one complaint about it. It's continental breakfast, it's written everywhere, you also have milk, juice or hot chocolat.

It felt more like a hostel than a hotel. You have to lock yourself in your room which is a fire hazard. They make you give back the key when you go out which is unusual. The rooms were small and it is an extremely loud neighborhood. The beds were okay, but not great. Wouldn't stay here again, but it would work in a pinch. I certainly wouldn't give it 3 stars, 2 at best.

Very good location. Clean, although small, rooms; which is to be expected based on the relatively cheap price. I am 1.80 cm tall and the bed was actually too short. Breakfast is ok. However, the guest house is located in a street with night clubs, which makes it extremely noisy till about 4 am.

Location excellent. Room and facilities were as expected for the price and totally fine. Breakfast good. Staff helpful and friendly. I was aware, from reading other reviews, that there were noise issues at night from the local bar(s). Sadly this was true and, despite being on the third floor and having the window closed, this was still a big problem. I can handle a certain level of disturbance, especially when I expect it, but to have music playing until 6am was madness. I expected 2am, 3am or even 4am. But 6am?! Sadly I would be unable to stay there in the future or recommend to anyone else as long as that is the case. Which is a shame because of the many positives.

The staff were amazing! They brought us breakfast in bed (no extra charge and without even being asked) and treated us like absolute gold. The breakfast every morning was divine. I loved my stay

Great Location
Love the location, very convenient to walk everywhere, room is clean and comfortable, and people who works there were all nice. Just it was too loud outside all night long from midnight to 6am!

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room (#203) was small, but clean and comfortable. The guest house is situated near restaurants, Lello bookstore, and walking distance from everywhere we wanted to visit. Breakfast was basic, but was as advertised and was enough. The only drawback for us was that our room was directly above a bar/restaurant that played music every night until 4 a.m. and that disturbed our sleep. I would gladly stay here again if we could be guaranteed a room on the top floor, not where we stayed. Thank you!

In The Center of Clerigos
Take the 601 or 602 bus from the airport (€1.95) to Clerigos & you are a two minute walk to the Guest House---it feels more like a fancy hostel than hotel---no phone, no fridge, limited bathroom lighting, tiny shower (minuscule---avoid if you are a person of girth), soap dispensers, tiny "flat screen" TV, outdoor music (really late) provided by the local pubs, and adequate breakfast... I found the staff to be most accommodating & friendly---good restaurants in the surrounding area---walking to various sites was simple & interesting---Wi-Fi very good---a reasonable cost for what is provided...I would lodge there again...

If you’re looking for a bed and place to leave your stuff, it’ll do. The rooms are clean and the bed not terribly uncomfortable. The air conditioners work well and there are blackout curtains. It is in a very convenient location for exploring the city center also. You will need the blackout curtains to catch up on the sleep you didn’t get before 6am because you can here the shouting and thumping music of nearby bars. I am a heavy sleeper and fell asleep before the noise started and it didn’t wake me, but upon waking up once anyway it was hard to fall back asleep. The wifi is basically nonexistent. I tried to connect in my room and it told me the password was not correct, which was not true as I was able to get (an albeit weak) signal in the lobby. The front desk couldn’t offer much help with this problem. Breakfast is available but it is 2 buns and a croissant with butter and jam, plus coffee and watered down Tang masquerading as juice. Passable if you’re not a big breakfast eater. Finally the toilet in my room didn’t seem to flush properly. This was probably unique to my room and by the time I discovered it (I didn’t spend much time there), I was too frustrated to bother asking the front desk to look at it. The front desk was friendly and helpful enough but there isn’t much that they can do to fix the fundamental problems with this place once you are there.

Basic but clean hotel with great location
Great convenient location to tour around the main areas of Porto. In the nightlife district but stayed on a Sunday night so was very quiet. Basic but clean room and the air conditioner worked very well and washrooms were clean. Simple breakfast (3 bread buns and jam and butter, with coffee or tea and a juice is available). Also very close to the first stop of the 601 bus to the airport (took about 40 min for 1.95 euro).

Sleepless nights
This hotel was located right in the historic part of porto with good access to all the sights. However, if you are a light sleeper this hotel is not for you. The music from the rock band in one of the neighboring night clubs reverberates until 4 am in the morning. It starts at about 10 pm. Take your ear plugs with you if you want a peaceful nights rest. The hotel also debited my credit card for $104 on top of the tariff and the municipal tax. When queried they said it was the Expedia commission. Never been charged before when i booked through expedia.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Clean. A tiny entrance door and lobby, but has an elevator and 24-hour reception.; wifi works ok. Breakfast (juice, coffee, rolls, croissamts) included, 8-10 am. Great location, a small stteet with pleasant cafes, steps from the emblematic Torre dos Clerigos, and a short (uphill) walk from the main train station with its spectacular tile art walls

Noisey and badly laid out
The bathroom had a toilet set in the corner with a basin in front of it, it was impossible to access. The noise from the street was constant till 5am then the street cleaning began also unbearably loud. Breakfast was great and the ladies who served it very nice.
