Great base to investigate Cefalu
Great location, 10 mins walk to old town. Comfortable and clean. Helpful, friendly staff. Convenient parking (useful as no vehicle access to old town).

Comfortable stay.
Friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in the renovated rooms which were comfortable. Small details were missing such as towel hooks and do not disturb signs. Breakfast was average. Overall a decent stay.

Not bad, but nothing special
Hotel is ok, regular breakfast. Walkable, but not close proximity to the center/old town, approximately 25-30 minutes. Same about beach - approximately 20-25 minutes… sound proofing should be addressed, can hear any noise from next door rooms. Wouldn’t stay more than 1-2 nights. Chefalu is a good base town to visit Palermo.

Dear. Mr. Josif,We thank you for choosing us and we are sorry for the inaccurate notes you made us, because:- The hotel is 900 meters from the historic center and can be traveled in a maximum of 10 minutes;- the beach is 100 meters away from the hotel;- as for the fact that Cefalù can be considered by her an old city first of all it is not the fault of the structure, so I do not understand the note and then I remind you that it is not "old" but an Arab-Norman town dating back to the ninth century considered a UNESCO heritage site for its monumental and artistic beauties.I understand that not everyone can appreciate the difference, but this statement seems absurd to us.

Room was large and balcony was nice to have to sit out and enjoy. Breakfast was good and plenty of choice. Decor in room was a little dated but key issue is location. It is a good 15-20 mins walk to Cefalu and the beach. There is a restaurant next to hotel which is good but others are a good walk away too.

Hotel needs maintenance, broken bathroom mirror and moldy grout in shower. No lift makes it very hard to bring luggage to room, staff watched me struggle without offering help. Breakfast was not very good. Parking is a rodeo! They have room but let bar patrons take all the spots. They should have 1 spot reserved for each room they have rented. Just use temporary signs... if room is rented put up the sign “reserved for hotel patrons” or something like that. It was a real paid to drag luggage from a muddy upper parking area.

Perfect for a quick business trip or 1 night stay
I booked this based on the good ratings, and on premises parking availability, for 1 night while traveling for business. The owners perosnally run their hotel and take pride. It is very clean and maintained well. My only issue was the bed was harder than usual-- Italian beds and pillows are known to be hard and their towels are known to be thin. There is a great cafe right next door that is owned by the hotel where you can get a quick lunch or snack for a very decent price. I had a dish of pasta, a beer and took away a large bottle of water for 8.50 euro.

Pleasant Stay
Spent a week here and had a very pleasant stay. The breakfasts were good and the room was perfectly adequate and had a small private terrace with sea view. Couple of minor irritations with the bathroom (e.g. extractor fan worked only intermittently) but overall good value and comfortable. Staff friendly & helpful. The 15/20 minute walk into town was not strenuous and had good views. Wifi worked fine in the room.

Bargain hotel in Cefalu
3 night stay whilst travelling Sicily. Booked last minute & got a great deal. Staff really friendly, room clean & sea view. Bathroom tiny, shower very small. Breakfast adequate & great bar next door for drinks & snacks. Good 20 minute walk, along the sea into the centre & we used the car for the beach. This didn't bother us but might be a problem for those less mobile

It's ok
Location ok, with a great view so make sure you get a room on the sea side. In the description they say "Within easy reach of the beach" which is not quite accurate unless they're talking about the small piece of sand by the harbor with no other guests. You need to walk approx. 25 min to get to Cefalu city and the beach. And also the staff is not really "multilingual" unless they're talking about all other languages than English.

Friendly, quiet, out of town location.
Travelled alone, stayed one week in late October, there were very few other guests. On arrival was offered choice of front (overlooking sea) or rear (overlooking open fields) and was told that the rear was quieter. Took the rear and was pleased that balcony was so quiet and private. Staff very helpful, willing to pass the time of day with me - I speak fluent Italian, which obviously helped. Gave me maps and timetables to help with getting around. Dining room open on my 1st morning, had breakfast there, charged 3 Euros for it. Thereafter, dining room closed (end of season?) and guests used cafe next door for breakfast. Good sized cafe, large balcony, run by same family as hotel, enormous range of snacks and some limited evening food available, plus newspapers, tobacco etc.

lovely hotel overlooking the harbour of cefalu
I stayed for three enjoyable and comfortable nights at the hotel Al Pescatore. The hotel is easily accessible via a short taxi ride from the station. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with sun terraces either facing the mountains behind or overlooking the sea. Bathrooms were also spacious and clean. The hotel occupies a great, peaceful location overlooking the harbour at cefalu and it is a ten minute walk down into the heart of the town and the beach. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice from savoury to sweet, and the hotel is joined to a shop/cafe/bar next door where you can enjoy food and drink. Staff at the hotel were very helpful and accommodating, assisting ably with any requests I had. I would definitely recommend Al Pescatore to anyone visiting cefalu.

A quiet, OK Hotel
Cefalu is a delightful place and the hotel was mentioned on signs, so wasn't too difficult to find. It's quite far from the lovely old town, so be prepared to hike, or drive in. However, it's in a quiet setting which was good for sleeping. The staff is friendly, and when we checked in, the lady at the desk spoke good English and was very helpful in providing us with maps and information. Breakfast was the usual, but the coronetos were a bit stale, and the cappachino, etc, came out of a machine, so tasted watery. Our room was basic, and the shower only had one door, so it was hard to keep the floor dry. Also, there was no hot water for our showers and the wall mounted hair dryer broke apart when I removed it from it's holder.

The Lone Female Traveller
A very comfortable stay. I had a double room for single occupancy. The air-conditioning, shower, etc all worked very well. The key system was most efficient. When key placed in the slot electrics were turned on and therefore when leaving the room and key taken out of slot electrics are turned off. It was lovely having french windows opening on to the balcony with a good view. It is good to know that all rooms have a balcony. Although there is no restaurant in the hotel, there is a cafe/restaurant next door and the buffet breakfast included in the price is adequate, salami, cheese, bread, cornflakes, tea, coffee, juice and croissants/cakes. There is a good view from the restaurant. It is entertaining to see people on scooters pulling up for their espressos, snacks and beers. I really enjoyed Cefalu, particularly the old part of town, where there is a beach, which when I went end of September wasn't crowded. The larger beach about an 8 minute walk away was more crowded with umbrellas, loungers etc. To just walk through the cobblestone old streets is a wonderful experience. I was in Cefalu for one week, on my own, but felt very safe. I went on a couple of tours. They were excellent. The first to Palermo and Monreale, and the second to Mount Etna and Taormina. Do shop around for the best price.

We stayed in Al Pescatore for 5 nights. Its a very nice hotel. Staff were friendly and helpfull, rooms clean and spacious. For breakfast there big choise of various sicilian pastries, not so much choice of a savory things. The only small downside of the hotel was that it was situated at least 20 mins walk to the city center and beaches so its best to have a car if you are staying over there. Overall, good hotel with welcoming and friendly atomosphere.

A great place to stay in Cefalu
Lovely hotel just outside of Cefalu. The walk into Cefalu is about 15 minutes with great views of Cefalu harbour. The hotel owner was warm and welcoming and the rooms were perfect. Brreakfast was OK and what you expect in 2-3* Italian hotels. Would certainly recommend it.

A pleasant hotel in a great location.
I recently stayed in this hotel for 4 nights during a visit to Sicily. I found it to be very good value, the staff were very friendly, and it is in a great location. My room faced the large hill which over looks the town of Cefalu, very pleasant to sit on the balcony with a glass of wine admiring the view. Other rooms had balconies overlooking the road, with views of the sea and the harbour. The walk into the old town is very pleasant. I had a hire car for my stay, but this is not essential as there is railway links with Palermo. Lots of cakes to be had for breakfast, and there is a cafe and shop in the same building. The rooms were well furnished, nice bathroom, all you could ask for really.
View from my balcony
View from top of hill down to hotel area

couldn't wait to check out
We checked in to this hotel for two nights and left first thing in the morning after the first night. We had our family with us so we booked two rooms. They were both marginally clean, the towels were stiff as boards and unuseable. The "breakfast" consisted of undercooked pastries and coffee from a vending maching-type coffee maker with bottle juice drink. In a country people take pride in cleanliness and hospitality and where great coffee and fresh orange juice is abundant, this was quite a shock. The hotel is located on one of the busiest streets in town with trucks going by all night long. None of us slept at all. There is a view of the sea if you cut down all the pine trees outside the window. It is close to the center of town which is the only positive thing I can say about it.

Al Pescatore - Wonderful Hotel!!
After staying at several other hotels during my visit to Italy, I found Al Pescatore Hotel in Cefalu to be my VERY best experience, even compared to several much more expensive hotels. Al Pescatore was immaculately clean, very modern and totally comfortable and quiet with an awesome view of the Mediterranean. The location is great, an easy walk to the town center and attractions with taxis available as well. But best of all was the wonderful Sicilian family that owns and runs this hotel. Ms. Anna, the owner and her daughters truly treated me like family. They always had a smile for me and willingly helped me with every need I had, Ms. Anna even made phone calls on my behalf on her cell phone. She is a truly a "people person" who makes you feel "at home" and her daughters are equally kind and helpful. Their morning breakfast was delightful and included fabulous cannoli and other excellent Sicilian pastries along with many Italian coffee options. There is a very nice restaurant and also a sandwich shop/bar in the same building called Al Solito Posto ("The Usual Place") with great, reasonably-priced foods and desserts and a great counter-girl, Francesca. Overall, this hotel deserves a very high rating and Signora Anna said they would probably receive an additional star next time due to all the investments and upgrades the family has recently made to the hotel. I have been to Italy three times and stayed at many places but Al Pescatore was my very favorite experience by far!

Lovely hotel if you don't mind bit of noise
Hotel is on the otskirts of the beautiful Cefalu. The area is nice it has lovely little harbour and you its in walking distance to the old town Cefalu. Hotel has small shop and bar which is very convenient especialy if you don't know area and its open (all the time) - it was open for easter and bank holidays. We had lovely room with a balcony to the main road which it was nice to observe lokals driving... shame the big tree was covering lovely view to the harbour. I can't say breakfast was very good but you had few options - cereals, lots of cakes (??) jam and butter. But it is noisy so if you wan't quiet night then don't stay there but if you don't mind bit of night noise then is nice place to stay.We stayed only for one night which it was perfect.I would more recommend it as passing hotel then long term holiday hotel.
