"The Corn Store was just as the pictures showed. It’s a pretty Cottage in a peaceful location with many local amenities. We only had a few days but felt we had seen and done a lot. The cottage itself was very comfortable, the dining area sat five of us around the kitchen table and there were plenty of comfy chairs in the sitting area for after supper. "A nice hotel , with friendly staff . The room was a little disappointing, there were no sockets by the bed , the hot water for the bath wasn’t hot , but was boiling in the sink . We had a humming noise which kept us awake at night, but the staff were helpful , and we managed to sort it out by our 2nd night . Only because the girl at reception slipped up and said they knew of it , and it was to do with the card you insert for electricity to the room ( room 307 ) .Anyway they did refund our money for the breakfasts for both mornings as a gesture of goodwill, after my partner prompted them . The breakfasts were ok if a little overcooked . The spa was lovely and relaxing after our 13 mile walk along the canal , it’s £10 for the 1st hour and £5 for an additional hour . It’s a nice easy walk into town less than 10 mins . "

"Nice hotel rooms were clean and tidy, good shower. Staff we found one member of staff quite rude to my wife when we arrived so wasn’t a good start. The bar staff on the Saturday evening were excellent 2 lads and a girl behind the bar really did shine, and won us back. Breakfast was poor on the Sunday morning. We didn’t really know how breakfast and would stop to help. No side plates no glasses for your orange juice , the bread box was empty for too long. The breakfast was warm and that’s about it. Nice hotel few faults, we won’t go back."

"Staff and the quality of the food were the only positives. General maintenance and cleanliness were extremely low with our room having a broken window hinge, the bin lid broken off, spit covering the bedroom mirror, the bath taps being brown around the outside, the toilet seat being the incorrect size for the toilet and the bath clearly had had a water leak that had damaged the side and not been replaced/covered. The spa was equally as bad with scum marks around the hot tubs and general lack of repair and maintenance in all areas... A toilet door lock came completely off in my hand!"

"Nothing really around but , it’s above a pub. Small carpark and if you come back after 6 you will struggle to park. Shower was temperamental and we asked for more milk but didn’t get this until after we’re asleep. It was left outside the room. The free breakfast is a small continental breakfast. Neither the less, still nice. You can buy a full breakfast. If you’re looking to Climb Snowdon, which we did, it’s a good 45 minute drive away. But if you want to get your head down, it’s the place to stay."
