Very spacious room!

Posted Nov 1, 2017
Pros: Room size, location, staff!
Cons: Another lift!!
Standard room with 2 queen beds, very very spacious with large bathroom. Unfortunately the view was of a wall 15 feet away, but not the end of the world. Shower is over the bath and no matter how carefully you set the shower curtain, inevitably water leaks onto the floor. Staff were very good, helpful and friendly. The safe was locked on our arrival, but one call to reception and a lady appeared within minutes to rectify the problem; likewise when we were a couple of towels short, one call and the towels were delivered within minutes. Hotel is ideally located downtown, with subway stations close by. Would recommend this hotel to all types of traveller.

Great customer service, disspointing hotel

Posted Oct 18, 2017
Pros: Interesting history, great staff
Cons: The acoustic separation between guestrooms, and also between guestrooms and the corridor. Also ensure AC units aren't too loud OR too quiet.
Location: Monk's Cafe (amazing beer selection), Sampan (great happy hour)
Overall the stay was nice, and the staff were helpful and understanding. The issue was with the acoustics in the hotel. My room was right across from a house keeping storage room and the door slammed every time the room was accessed, including late at night. My room also had a side door to the next room that was not properly sealed/gasketted, and I could hear my neighbors watching TV until 1AM. The acoustic performance across the door was so poor I could make out words from the TV. I would have turned up AC unit to mask the noise, but even when on high it was silent. Ended up asking for a different room, and the staff was super understanding and accomadating. While my new room was great, I probably will look for a different hotel on my next visit to Philadelphia since it seems like the room quality varies greatly from room to room.

Beautiful old ornate hotel

Posted Sep 12, 2017
Pros: It's beautiful and the staff is wonderful
Cons: Room comfort like a ceiling fan and furniture to put clothes away
Location: Shopping, restaurants
I just returned from a short stay at Hyatt Bellevue . It's an absolutely gorgeous hotel in a convenient location. We were able to easily walk to shops, restaurants and even the market place but that was a good distance away. The hotel has parking that you have to pay for but very convenient. The only things we weren't 100% happy with was the lack of storage space in the bedroom. There were No dressers to put your clothes away, or counter space in the bathroom for your toiletries. There was a decorative shelving piece in the bathroom so we took all their decor off to use for our toiletries. We had a room facing the courtyard so we found the room dark even with all the lamps on. A ceiling fan is always a plus but there wasn't one. So as we loved the old historic vibe of this hotel we would have liked some modern comforts in our room.

It was strange the room did not have a chest of drawers to put items in. The closet was very small, had 3 hangers and no shelf for purses or other items. It seemed whoever designed the room spent all the time on beauty and none on functionality.

Nice hotel convenient to theatre district.

Staff and rooms were nice. We ate breakfast at XIX next morning. Again staff were great, but eggs on the buffet were not good. Many hotels use powdered eggs. If you want eggs. Order off the menu. All in all a good stay. Would stay here again if needed a center city hotel.
