Found a cockroach

The non smoking room was stinking of cigarettes. We were given a different room. After we came back the second room was also smelling of drainage and cigarettes. The cigarette smell was circulating from the AC vents between connecting rooms especially.The day i left there was a cockroach in the bathroom. The bathrooms are designed so badly there is not a single door with lock. Absolutely no privacy. Atleast double bed rooms should be designed with proper bathrooms. Never going to stay at hyatt again.

Comfortable rooms, an ample buffet breakfast, nice spa—not in a pedestrian friendly area due to construction—a few problems with credit card readers that eventually worked

Poor organisation

Lobby was on a different level to the reception/ cloak room causing confusion. Chaotic when parties take place with visitors to the party/ function room clogging the entrance. Entrance staff not organised. Dinner was tasteless.

Very Average hotel,should lower star rating

Breakfast was tasteless and average. Front desk staff not very helpful. Outside looks horrible, repair work not done even after 1 year of storm damage. Would not recommend

Hyatt Regency- THE place to stay while in Chennai

Pros: location; cleanliness, friendly staff
Cons: the dessert menu at the Chinese restaurant can be improved.
Fantastic buffet breakfast - wide variety of selection. We tried all the different restaurants at dinner time (Chinese, Japanese and Spice hut) - all of them were good. We would like to say thank you to Chef Senthil - who went an extra mile to help pack meals for our children who were not feeling. well. This will definitely be the place we will stay whenever we visit. We were impressed by the courtesy and politeness of all the staff - right from the concierge to the kitchen staff. We had one of the best new year celebrations ever. We felt very safe to stay in this hotel

Decent hotel - odd smell - amazing breakfast.

Overall an ageing hotel, but it seems they are doing some renovations outside. The main issue was the smell of some sort of cleaning detergent or airfreshner....it was extremely pungent. We did have our room changed, but the smell was there too. Quite unfortunate. Otherwise, a decent experience, amazing breakfast and friendly staff.

Hyatt - worst hotel experience

The Hyatt was by the worst hotel experience I have had. When I arrived, I was welcomed by an unpleasant odor. My room smelled like mildew and after several attempts of requesting to change rooms, the staff finally coordinated my room switch. The next room was better than the first, but smelled of paint fumes due to renovations in the hallway. Compared to other hotels I had experienced during my time in India, the Hyatt's staff was inattentive and often unresponsive. I asked for extra towels one evening and never received it, when I called the next day, I did not receive the towels and called the staff again. This time the staff brought the towels within 10 mins. Finally, I scheduled a spa treatment - massage, facial, and body wrap. The massage and the body wrap were alright. As the facial started, I asked the staff a few questions to ensure that I understood their process. She then shared that she was using ingredients to brighten and whiten my face. I tried to clarify what she meant by whitening to make sure that I was hearing her correctly and she confirmed that the ingredients were for brigthening and whitening. I asked her to stop the facial and paid for services rendered, but I was very dissapointed that they did not indicate in their brochure that they use whitening products. This all to say, I will never stay this Hyatt again.

Great room, great staff and good service

we spent two nights here. The room is very good and bathroom is excellent. There service is also very good. Only on second day, the rooms were not made even by 5:00 pm. The cleaning staff came when I complained. His explanation was that today 100% rooms are booked.They cleaned the room immediately but this situation was not expected at hotel like Hyatt.
