Great central location

Didn't enjoy this stay. Can hear outside noise from 10th floor. Technical issues and overall rating is just average.

Boutique hotel at a great location

Pros: Free laundry machines and dryers for guests to use! These are located in the lobby right behind the check in counter. Very helpful staff.
Cons: Better sound-proofing.
Location: Lots of interesting joints in the Lan Kwai Fong. Good organic cafe/restaurant within 5 minutes walking
My first night at the hotel was a Friday. Starting at around 10 pm, I started hearing the thumping of loud music. It did not come from inside the hotel to be sure, but somewhere in the neighborhood. I checked to make sure all the windows were closed, and they were, so the thumping somehow came through the walls. My room was on the 21st floor, but apparently that was not high enough. Mind you, the hotel is in the famous Lan Kwai Fong neighborhood with its many clubs and bars, so no doubt the music emanated from one or more of those establishments. Anyway, the thumping as well as, later on, the noise of people talking continued well past mid-night. Fortunately, I did manage to sleep anyway. What happened on Friday happened again on Saturday, but became slightly less pronounced on Sunday night. I left on Monday so cannot tell you if everything is acceptably quiet on a working weekday. So be forewarned that if you decide to stay at Ovolo on a weekend, you may have to bring earplugs!

Fantastic hotel!

The Ovolo is in a great location and very close to lots of the bars and restaurants in Lan Kwai Fong. The hotel staff were amazing, very friendly and super helpful. Nothing was too much for then and they had great advice on the area and things to do. The room was great, very modern, light, bright and airy. I would certainly make this my place to stay if I return to Hong Kong!

GREAT location, super close to great bars and restaurants but surprisingly quiet in the rooms. Nice mini bar, all free of charge, and great shower. Black-out shades are also super appreciated after a long day of travel!

Could be better

Due to flight delay, I arrived at the hotel at 2am. The front desk checked me into a handicapped room without informing me. I found out only when I reached my room and at 2am, I just wanted to shower and crash in bed, and thus decided not to change the room. I had to move the bench in the standing shower out before I could shower and that didn't make me happy. Nor did the noise coming from the discos downstairs. The next thing was the breakfast which was operated by the cafe next to the hotel. You are given a set menu to order from. I booked the room which included 2 breakfasts. As I booked via hotels.com, the discrepancy between a room without breakfast and 2 breakfasts was around USD60. When I asked for another set of breakfast (I just wanted pancakes), they said I was only entitled 1 since there was just 1 of me, even though I had paid for 2 breakfasts. Once again, this got me rather angry and I decided to inform the front desk who told me there was a miscommunication. Given that I was there for just a night (less than 12 hours in total), I guess my experience wasn't the most pleasant. Nevertheless, the bed was comfortable and they allowed me to do a late checkout at 1pm.

Middle of the road hotel.

It was great, but not worth the price. Would stay in a larger hotel. It's very small and gym is tiny! Free snacks are a nice touch.
