After a lot of research we decided to choose this hotel, and my expectations were way better than I could have imagined. The hotel was amazing, the staff were beyond anything I could have hoped for. They were so respectful, courteous and so polite. Nothing was to much trouble. They had free transport every half hour to take us to koyoto station which was of great help as we were first time travellers to Japan. We had an upgrade and our room was very big and comfortable with a beautiful view.. I could not fault the hotel, would definitely stay again.

This is the 2nd time we came to Kyoto. We decided to stay somewhere not near Kyoto station.
This hotel is just 1-2 min walk from a subway station. Taxi Fare is about 1000Yen from Kyoto station to Village Kyoto. There are many nice restaurants near by. We went to 2 Japanese tapa places right above 7-11 (1-2 min walk), and the dishes were excellent and cheap (compared to Kyoto station area). FYI, there's a McDonald nearby as well.
Bus pass is sufficient enough for many places.
Japanese futon is awesome. It's big enough for family of 4. It's fairly clean as well. The hotel staffs are ok in English if you put questions in writing. Breakfast is served with cold Japanese bento. You can heat it with in-room microwave.
We feel this hotel is relatively nice and cozy. It's not a big hotel like Hilton, but the traditional Japanese futon is a fun experience for the kids.
