Walkable to town and beach.

Posted Mar 2, 2016
Booked this last min and was a little worried about some of the reviews but our stay was just fine. You can really tell they are making every effort to turn this hotel around. Management was very accommodating and checked up on guests to make sure they had everything they needed. They have renovated some of the rooms so be sure to request one at check in. It is an older building and you can hear water running when other guests shower so if you're a very light sleeper this may bother you. We didn't mind it. We would stay here again. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Good deal for a night at the beach.

When we first got there we found a opened bottle of wine in the mini fridge, there were thin walls and no rest due to loud people in next room till 3:00am and the bed was off it's pedestal and the next morning my husband tried to fix the bed and we found a entire box of syringes under the bed! When we told the manager Sean he said he would comp us but later called us back and said all he could do is give us 15% off next time we stay! No way ! Never again! Wow! Really?

We apologize that your stay was not ideal for you, and we are taking action to ensure that these circumstances never occur again. The housekeeping staff has been counseled concerning high cleaning standards, as well as the importance of thorough room inspections. Let me remind you that a new room was offered four times during your stay, and each time it was denied. Twice, when the bottle was found, once when we received a noise complaint, and once more after patrolling the hallways and the complaint was resolved. The next morning, you informed us that the noise had not, in fact, persisted throughout the night and thanked us for the speed and manner in which the complaint was handled, despite the late hour. Upon checkout, you presented us with a box of unopened , packaged insulin syringes, and told us it was found under the mattress. Finally, we did not offer to comp the room, but in fact informed you that we would confer with upper management about the possibility of offering a refund based on your experiences. Because we had offered a new room four times and it was declined four times, we could not offer a refund, but instead offered a discount on your next stay to make up for the issues you experienced during your stay with us. We are happy for you that Choice Hotels has awarded you with enough points on your Choice Rewards Membership to enjoy a free future stay at any Choice Hotel, as compensation for the bad experience. In conclusion, we appreciate your business and your prompt reporting of issues as they arose. We will use this feedback to further improve the quality of our Hotel and the quality of stay for all of our future guests. Thank you again, and we wish you the best. This hotel is run down. It is a place to sleep. If your not picky it might be a good option. We were excited to leave as quickly as possible. The staff was nice.

Thank you for your feedback. There are a lot of things that go into running a motel and upkeep, and upgrades are just a couple. This year we installed 32in. Flat screen TV's in all our rooms, added a charging system to the nightstands for convenience of recharging cell phones via plug in or usb port. purchased dozens of sheets, towels, washcloths etc. to help with guest satisfaction and convenience. We are working on upgrading in other areas as well, and we are sorry your stay was less than you expected. Thanks again for your comment.

1st room had no fridge or Microwave. ASKED to be moved to another room. Close to ocean. Ac/Heater controlled by office, not in room.

As we have found out by huge power bills due to customers leaving heat on and windows open, we have a system in place that allows the office to shut off the heat. We do not have A/C. Thank you for your comment.

Great location, not so impressive stay.

Posted Aug 18, 2015 on Hotels
I feel like the quality of the hotel is not worth the price we paid. The location is its only benefit. The continental breakfast is toast and muffins. That is a poor excuse for a "continental" breakfast. The bed frame was noticeably dusty and the window didn't have a screen and it just smells a little. I would've paid more like $60 for this, not $157 a night.

Thanks for your comments, We are working on modifying and upgrading the rooms as we have time and $$$. As you know it takes both to accomplish large tasks. I do understand from the customer perspective you see only 1 room, where we see 50 so I apologize your stay was less than you expected.

Pros: The hotel staff was pleasant
Cons: Everything
Hotel had chipped paint everywhere, no parking and no air conditioning - way over priced and not clean

We have 2 parking lots, one across the road, but most choose not to use it even though we tell everyone, so they get blocked in. That in no way is our fault when we tell them that parking across the road is better if they want to get out in the AM. This is the first year that we have had a need for AC as it has been a record setting hot summer. we will look at adding them in the future. Thanks for your response though as it helps us take a closer look at the motel from customers perspectives.
