Location of the Thon Opera Hotel is the most convenient. It is in the heart of Oslo, near the Opera House, from which you can enjoy views of the Oslo Fjord. All tourist attractions are served by domestic transport from this key location. Shopping areas and dining options are nearby. If you take the hotel with breakfast, you will be more than satisfied with the rich and varied continental breakfast. To go to the airport, it is two steps away from Oslo S, from where you are at the airport in 20 minutes.

The breakfast was amazing and well worth it!! I would highly recommend this location as it is central to everything! The floating sauna experience was 3 min walk from the hotel. The train station was right outside the hotel and the rueter app made it very easy to navigate the city by bus. Norway was amazing and so was this hotel! Thank you!

We had an excellent stay at the Thon Opera. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and the location couldn’t be better. We could walk to most of the main attractions and the fact that the hotel is almost connected to the central train station made it super easy to come and go to the airport by rapid train, even with our two large suitcases. I totally recommend this hotel In Oslo.

This was a fantastic stay. Room was clean and cozy and very quiet. Great location right beside the main train station with easy walkability around the city. Plus the breakfast buffet was insane. Literally anything you could think of was available. Will definitely stay here again next time I’m in Oslo.

Lovely hotel in a great area. Breakfast well organised, well presented and very good quality. Slight niggle with the showers which ran cold and hot, the temperature of the water would not remain consistent. We would definitely return.

I was very upset about my stay in this hotel. I booked this hotel through Expedia. I paid it before I go. When I checked in, the front desk told me that I did not pay. I can not give them a proof since my phone WiFi was not working. I have to pay again. They realized that they made mistake afterward. They told me that they will refund the money to me within 30 days. I received refund from them about 10 days, but they refunded less money than I paid. I complained this to them. They told me this is because exchange rate. Does it mean that I have to pay their mistake? It is horrible service!!!!

Cosy hotel near the Central station

Great location! Hotel was right across from station so it was easy to walk from train and local sites. Breakfast was good with lots of options as comfortable dining. Rooms were basic, but clean and comfortable. I would recommend if you’re looking for a nice, basic hotel.

Everything pretty much great. Room was comfortable, great bed. Reception and bar staff super professional people, helpful. Breakfast spread amazing as always in Thon Hotels. Room 921 right side bed lamp not working, just to let you know. Ate once In the bar, food was good, had the fish soup, Chef/cook being a little cheap on the fish & shrimp ( 3 tiny pieces of white fish & maybe 8 tiny shrimp in a big bowl of soup ) All in all, great hotel, would stay again !

This property was beautiful and the room was gorgeous. We found the beds and pillows to be super comfortable and the bathroom was nicely sized. Power points and USB charge points were easy to find and use, and we had plenty of storage options for our suitcases. We found the location to be the most convenient you could ask for. You can walk to the hotel straight from the train station, and then it was super easy to catch a bus to multiple points of interest. It was also easily walkable to the opera house and harbor. Breakfasts were full of delicious choices and we were very happy with the service and amenities nearby. We would definitely stay again in any Thon Hotel in Norway, having had amazing visits at each property we visited around the country. Definitely great value and comfort for the money spent.

A very good stay. The hotel was very convenient from Sentral Station and close to all shopping in malls. Also close to Opera House and Munch Museum. Easy walking to all the sights around Oslo. Rooms was good appointed. Breakfast was terrific with many options. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay!

Excellent stay!
A good place to stay for first timer in Oslo. Close to train station, lots of taxi and can take train to Oslo airport. The hotel is close to opera house, marina , superb with excellent breakfast buffet.

Thon Hotel Opera has a great location. Two minute walk from the train station, four minute walk to the harbor and the National Opera and Ballet, restaurants all around, easy access to public transportation and shopping. We could not have picked a better place. The hotel itself was very well appointed and comfortable with nice amenities and very friendly staff. The breakfast buffet provided was outstanding. Unfortunately we somehow missed the fact that it was included (jet lag???) and did not partake until days 3 and 4 of our stay. But we made up for it then. I would definitely choose this hotel if returning to Oslo.

The staff at reception are very friendly and helpful. Our room was typically small, but both very functional and stylish. The bathroom was exceptionally clean. The breakfast was fantastic. Plenty of choices. I really enjoyed the energy shots being offered! The hotel is well located, right next to the central train station. The bus terminal is the far side of the train station, and is accessible simply by walking through the train station. There’s clearly marked signs.
