Hotel was great, a bit on the pricey side, but there was some dust by the night stand, other than that everything seemed pretty clean, the gym was great as well, one thing we did not know until a few days into our trip, there’s a Tesla car which gives complimentary rides up to 10 blocks away, so instead of taking a taxi or Uber just have the Tesla take you and walk the rest

beautiful old property

Pros: It's a gorgeous old property
Location: adjacent to Central Park, one of the best locations in Manhattan.
The only issue I had was on check-in. They asked for a credit card for incidentals and told me they would not actually charge it, but merely process a 'hold'. I inadvertently/mistakenly gave them a debit card (instead of a credit card) and they proceeded to instantaneously withdraw $250USD from my Canadian bank. We questioned this and asked for it to be credited back immediately upon check out and were told that sorry, it would have to be dealt with by 'the accounting department' and it would be 3 - 5 days before the money could be returned. I view this situation as unacceptable - they'll have my money for 3 - 5 days, after I have checked out and paid all incidentals with a credit card. They can process a debit card transaction within 10 seconds, but cannot process a credit? They should equip front desk staff to make legitimate financial transactions as/when required, which will prevent customers from feeling they have been taken advantage of. The front desk person was terrific and professional, so no issues there.

Stunning

Pros: It’s beautiful, historic, and every detail of my stay was perfection.
Location: Perfect location. Central Park. 5th Avenue. Museum mile.
The entire hotel is beautiful. Quite an experience. The staff are amazing. Unlike any hotel in New York!

Very nice hotel, only problem is it is very busy

Very busy hotel, ridiculously difficult to get into hotel due to large crowds, otherwise enjoyed stay very much.

Maid left dirty glasses in room on first night and did not replace with clean ones which is why we rated cleanliness at a 4 rather than a 5. The entire experience was absolutely wonderful and the staff was exceptional. A top notch stay!
