Great hotel in Old Town

I needed a hotel fairly close to San Diego airport, and this place was great. It's a short walk to Old Town and there's a trolley stop nearby, so easy access to downtown San Diego too. I spent a little extra for a room with a balcony because I wanted to turn off the AC and get the outside breeze in my room. When I checked in, I was given a suite with no balcony. I called the front desk and asked if there were any balcony rooms available, and I was quickly able to move rooms. It does seem to be a more family-oriented hotel. I could hear kids running around the halls in the morning. It was no bother to me at all, but I was definitely one of the few solo business travelers.

Old Town San Diego

Pros: Overall we love the location to access Old Town right along the main drag. And the breakfast is good.
Cons: The French doors were sealed shut and that was disappointing, it would be nice to open then and sit out there with coffee.
Location: The location is great, right on the main strip for easy access to Old Town shops and restaurants. there is a small market across the street.
This was a last minute reservation and it was nice to see they had rooms available last minute. The bed was a little firm for what I am used to with Marriott and the breakfast in the morning didn't have trays to return to our room to eat privately but was plentiful. The orange juice in the machine was watery. There is a balcony off the bedroom but you cant access it from the room, The French doors were sealed shut and that was disappointing, it was a beautiful morning and opening the doors would have been lovely. Maybe offer some chairs for sitting on the balcony since it's not an area where people access their rooms. We did not visit the pool area because we were last minute and didn't have bathing attire.

Very nice hotel convenient to MCRD and loved the Old Town district, hotel staff was A-1 to deal with, nice breakfast, very clean.

Perfect location

We were lucky to be on Thsnksgiving! San Diego was great and the hotel wasn't full. We received an upgrade, room with a balcony, due to my Marriott membership! Excellent service and yes, this will be my hotel for future visits to San Diego!

Nice hotel about 2 blocks from old town restaurants. Don’t up grade to courtyard view not worth it . $20 night fee for parking

We had one person in our party arrive late and when checking in was told they overbooked the hotel and didn't have a room for her. They moved her to another hotel. She had to walk there at night and then back in the morning. They told her she would get a refund for the inconvenience but then refused to issue the credit. The hotel was cute and comfortable in a nice area of old town but they do not live up to their promises. Very unprofessional.
