Everything you look for in a first-class hotel.

Pros: Proximity to the medical center, friendliness of all staff.
Cons: Bring back the potato chips and provide an ice cream freezer box in the snack store.
Location: Down the street from the medical center.
We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past, and it never fails to please. From the moment we pulled up in front, the staff was attentive and friendly. A nice touch was the fact that with a handicapped placard, you can park near the entrance, and there is no parking fee. Not so at other premium hotels in the area. The bar staff was helpful and engaging. Fernando treated us like old friends. The only downsize was that the bar has discontinued offering their outstanding fresh-made potato chips. Bring 'em back !!

Good value

Extremely comfortable K bed. Good breakfast buffet (add on cost). Only issue was misunderstanding about available room type via Expedia reservations. There are no double sofa pullouts in K room per management, only a single mattress pullout.

Close to UCSD

We stayed here to move my freshmen son into the dorms at ucsd. Second time we have stayed at this Marriott this past year. The staff is by far one of the friendliest and most accommodating staffs we've ever had! From the moment we pulled in, the valet team was right there to assist us. The team in both restaurants were extremely kind, always checking to see if we had everything we needed. The cleaning crew always greeted us with a friendly hello in the hallway. We traveled 7 hours and the staff at the La Jolla Marriott made us feel welcome, happy, and comfortable! Thank you!

Book 2beds and was told overbook and only have one queen bed for 3 adult. The hotel offered a roll away bed and free wifi to compensate.

Does not honor Expedia Reservation

Pros: The valet service is nice.
Cons: The reservation system needs definite improvement. The desk staff needs sensitivity training. Housekeeping service should be friendlier.
Location: The hotel location is in a nice but not easily walkable neighborhood. UCSD and the beach are close but not walkable.
I reserved 2 Queens for 4 adults. San Diego Marriott La Jolla says it was not "guaranteed" because it was 3rd party. They put us in a room with a single queen bed and put in a single roll away bed. They are not even courteous as if it was a big favor to put in the second bed. I guess all reservations made thru 3rd party are second priority even it was prepaid, This hotel does not know the meaning of reservation.

Massively Overpriced

Location: There's a mall nearby, if you like that sort of thing.
Travelled on Labor Day Weekend. Paid at least double the average room rate. Got a below average room, with a queen bed, instead of the king we reserved. There was absolutely nothing that distinguished this room above any econo-box hotel. To make things worse, the shower was anemic, and too short for a 6' tall person to stand under. To add insult to injury, everything was extra charge, from the self-parking to the internet. Would not book again under any circumstances.

2nd Stay

It was our 2nd stay & we booked the same type of room. I am completely in love with the hotel & the best part is the bed! We visited the bar & had great service, too!

Great Hotel; very accomodating

Hotel is easy to get to and a nice location. Staff was very helpful and friendly and assisted me with an early check-in which was much appreciated. Very impressed!
