Nice hotel close to central train station

Posted Nov 18, 2017
Pros: The location is very close to main train station.
Cons: update the decor.
Location: Bologna central station is across the road. The main part of the city is only a 15 min walk. We also went to the Ducati Factory and did the tour.
Stayed for 3 nights. The hotel is quiet old but is very central located in Bologna next to the main train station. It is only a 15 min walk to the main part of the city. Lots of restaurants close by as well. Room was clean and quiet.

Nice hotel right across from the railway station

Posted Nov 1, 2017
Pros: Location, breakfast, staff is friendly.
Cons: Walls between the rooms are not enough sound isolating. That is when you talk at a normal pitch after 11 pm, it may bother your neighbors.
Location: Location is good for train travellars since it is right across from the railway station. The City of Bologna's historic center is close.
Good experience. However, walls between the rooms are not enough sound isolating. That is when you talk at a normal pitch after 11 pm, it may bother your neighbors.

Close to station

It was great for a stop over as next morning had to be on early train. It was right opposite the train station so super easy to find.

Dirty hotel shouldn’t be 4* hotel

Posted Oct 20, 2017
Rubbish - dirty bathroom stained walls. I am not how they obtained a 4* rating. I think should be a 2*. Not good enough.

Convenient location

Posted Oct 9, 2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Just note that the City tax is 2 euros per night per person and not 1.50 as per the Expedia reservation
The hotel is ideally situated. It is opposite the station for visiting other places. The airport bus stops right in front of the hotel. It is close to restaurants, museums and all the places of interest just an agreeable walk away. The room was very quiet and the superior room has tea/coffee making facilities and free minibar.

Atrocious facilities!!

Posted Sep 6, 2017
Rooms are NEVER cleaned, forget about having a clean bathroom and toilet! I suppose it's the same since late eighties. The staff won't even apologize or attempt to change, unless you demand to clean things up. My partner was told that slip-ons were part of a service and needs to be paid. But they eventually sent a pair. One of the sanitary items in the bathroom had menstrual blood on them, that just grosses us out!! Find another place, simply put.

Extremely close to the main station, so ideal for us as we were travelling to Verona and Bologna by train each day. Quite a dated room though and not particularly good feel to it. To be clear, nothing wrong, I just have higher expectations of mercure having stayed in quite a few and had great experiences.
