This is a typical french 3 star hotel but it is worth staying in for the location and the nearby parking Les Lices. There is tea and coffee in the room but no milk so as long as you like it black you are ok! Rooms and bathrooms are small and the lift is teeny but we were only there for one night so that was not a problem.
The breakfast was the usual continental but you could boil your own eggs and make your own toast but only one person could use the salt so make sure no other tables are eating boiled eggs when you start yours!!!
The location is the best thing about this hotel, next door are loads of cafes, bars and restaurants and a little further round the corner brings you to the main shopping area of Rennes.

"Bed and breakfast in a French chateau/manor house"
Chose this hotel for a different experience - amazing decor and building. Peaceful location and perfect just to enjoy a different life style for a short period. We live in the country so were not fazed by isolation and no staff on duty in building overnight but some people might find it a challenge. (Hotel staff live closeby in a separate dwelling). No dinner provided so be prepared to drive to village or Rennes. Loved the antique furniture, house itself and the gardens. Breakfast was delicious and served in a very elegant room

The setting of the hotel is lovely, very peaceful and pretty by the lake and golf course.
We had a suite which was very spacious and comfortable, however lacked amenities considering such good facilities. There was only one cup in the kitchen, and no milk for coffee so we had to request, basically you wouldn't be able to actually use the nice kitchen unless you took your own bits. It stated biscuits, there weren't any. We also had a baby cot, but did not want to use as not very good quality and we found dried up leaves under the sheet.
Regarding the staff, the person on reception was very nice and friendly, however the bar and waiting staff were quite rude and not attentive. We had to go up to the bar every time for drinks and orders, when it seemed other guests had table service, whether this was because we were English, who knows!!
