Old charming hotel

Posted Jul 24, 2017
Pros: Location and grandeur
Cons: Parking is expensive and needs updating
The hotel was grand and pretty to stay in, though is probably in need of a bit of an overhaul. The overall impression is of stately luxury but the carpets and wallpaper are often a bit damaged or tired. Once renovated, this hotel could recapture some of its undoubted glamour.

Beautiful historic building with great location

Posted Jul 14, 2017
Pros: Historic building
Cons: Room and hallways with cigarette smell. Bedding could be improved maintaining old style.
Location: Visit cathedral, historic buildings downtown, stroll around the park, drink cider
Everything you want to see in Oviedo is within walking distance. Great shopping blocks away.

Pleasant but not as clean or comfortable as one would expect based on the photos and rating. Space is attractive but a bit worn (e.g. furniture, stained carpets). Service was adequate. Enjoyed our stay but was not outstanding.

Good for one night stay if you need parking

Posted Jun 23, 2017
Cons: They should add extra pillows and check the bed boards that are noisy.
Location: It was good and had parking which was a plus for me.
It was good for one night stay if you need parking. It was more expensive that other Eurostars, but that doesn't mean it was better. Still a good hotel and I like the chain.

Good, but Old-fashioned

Posted Apr 18, 2017
Pros: The location and the fact that it was quiet
Cons: Needs more outlets in the rooms. Dump the cots--they are awful. Perhaps softer music at breakfast.
Location: Location is very good, the better part of town. But about 15 minute walk to Old Town. Restaurant Gloria around the corner was very good.
This hotel is in a nice area of Oviedo (close to shopping) and better restaurants. Try restaurant Gloria around the corner (excellent tapas, modern feel). The hotel has "old world" charm (cool facade, pretty interior courtyard), but after the initial thrill it seemed a bit dated and contained only a few modern amenities. Rooms are small and a bit dark and the twin beds in the standard room are just ok. We had a cot brought in for our 13-year daughter and it was unsatisfactory. The room had very few outlets so charging electronics was a challenge for three people. Parking is convenient-- right in the hotel. Breakfast was good and there was a loud, but pleasing piano player in the room. Seemed strange to have such loud music in the morning. The staff was not particularly friendly or overall helpful --just ok.
