20 min walk from Riga center, clean and affordable

Posted Nov 19, 2017
I stayed one night at Hanza hotel for a week-end trip to Riga. It is a 20 minutes walk from the historic city center. On the way you'll pass by the Riga central market, apparently the largest food market in Europe. The hotel is thus a certain distance from the center, in a quiet neighbourhood. It is clean, modern and affordable. I would stay there again.

A Real Bargain!

Posted Nov 1, 2017
Paid a pittance for 4 nights B&B and were expecting a catch. There wasn't one. Hotel was 15 mins walk from the old town, adequate rooms and nice breakfast (based on continental standards). Staff spoke perfect English and were very helpful.

Weekend break for 6

Posted Oct 23, 2017
Great hotel, helpful staff. Breakfast okay. Fresh fruit would be a nice extra. Breakfast room very busy but tables cleaned quickly. Comfortable bed and great shower. Shame the tea was not replenished and there was no milk for tea. Reseasonable minibar. Hotel was clean and quiet. The only negative would be it was a lonely walk to the main city and would not be pleasant on your own but as there were 6 of us it was okay. A good hotel.

Hotel room smells dampness

Posted Oct 21, 2017
Pros: friendly staff & price
Cons: Rooms smells damp, and fridge are making bad noises.
Location: Rail way and easy access to central.
Nice and friendly staff, close to central, the only problem, rooms are smells damp. I couldn't close the window, because of bad smell.

Nice hotel close to Central Market and stations

Posted Oct 8, 2017
Pros: Quiet at night due to its suburban location, so got a good night sleep. Close to the main river, and a purpose built boardwalk to use.
Cons: Breakfast could have been varied as had the same selection all 3 days. Better seating area to use around reception, but spare space is limited.
Location: Liked the central market, and the gastronomy area and brewery bars. The area surrounding the hotel was a bit run down, but was safe to walk.
Well run hotel but lacked general space or lounge area to relax. Easy walking access to the central market and old town of Riga. Not many places nearby to eat and drink, but a good selection in the nearby shopping areas.

Fair value

Posted Sep 22, 2017
An ok hotel which is fair value about 25 minutes walk from the old city. Noisy outside during the night from drunkards.

Lovely hotel, great value, location not great.

Posted Sep 17, 2017
The hotel was really nice, very clean and the room we were given was really big which was great! Staff were lovely, we arrived at 11am (well before check in time) and asked could we just leave our cases with the hotel and come back to get our rooms when check in opened. We were informed that our room was actually ready and we could go straight up!! The only downside was that the hotel is about a 15/20 minute walk away from the old town through streets which aren't the most pleasant at night time. Apart from this we had a brilliant stay and found it to be superb value for money.

Discriminating and unaccommodating staff

Posted Aug 23, 2017
Pros: absolutely nothing
Cons: service, communication, facilities
Location: location is OK, very close to the city center. Not much to do around.
One of the worst hotels that I have ever stayed at with discriminating and unaccommodating staff that wanted to charge an arm and a leg for basic necessities.

Horrible place with very unpleasant staff

Pros: Nothing at all
Cons: Everything needs improvement
Very unaccommodating staff that will discriminate against you based on the language that you speak.
