most helpful staff at postales argentina

Posted Nov 15, 2011 on Hotels
we recently stayed at the postales argentina hotel in chacras de coria, and we can't say enough good things about the friendly and helpful staff. not only were they helpful with all the basics, like calling for transportation, or suggesting activities in the area - they were able to call a doctor to come to the hotel when my husband developed bronchitis. really above and beyond service. the hotel is just down the street from the small downtown of chacras de coria, and it is a quick walk to several shops and restaurants. it is very quiet there, which is a nice change of pace from downtown mendoza. we were a little disappointed that the outdoor swimming pool was not operational while we were there, but other than that, it was a cute place to stay with great service.

Great hotel

This place is located in a small village outside of Mendoza, the staff is extremely helpful and will set up activities for you, trekking, rock climbing, wine tasting, bike rides, etc. The breakfast is basic but delicious and fresh, rooms are clean, beds very comfortable, setting is idyllic. Very reasonably priced. Lots of excellent restaurants in the area, and for 40 pesos, about 10$ US, you can buy bottles of the lodge's Malbec, which is fantastic.

Nice place

The room furnishings are a bit outdated, but other than that, the lodge is really nice. However, the most important thing is that the people who work there did everything possible to help us with everything we asked for: restaurant and winery reservations, recommendations, directions, nice breakfast, etc. So overall a very positive experience.

Excellent lodge near Mendoza wineries

Posted Dec 10, 2009
We were glad we decided to stay about 15 minutes outside the provincial capital as our base for winery tours, as that put us in the quaint, friendly suburb of Chacras de Coria -- close to small bodegas and one large one (Alta Vista). The town, a brief and safe walk from the lodge, has a small plaza with decent lunch choices indoors or at tree-shaded sidewalk tables. There's a Spanish-style adobe church. The lodge, which lost its chef and had to close its Fuego Restaurante, is next to a nice Italian restaurant and within walking distance of a few others -- though Mendoza might be the best bet for dinner if you have a car or want to take a cab. (Note: All restaurants are closed Monday evenings.) We rode a public bus to and from Mendoza one afternoon -- a low-cost, smooth trip of about 30 minutes or less, with a stop right outside the lodge. You'll need 2 pesos per person in coins, though -- not always easy to get. (Desk had no change.) Breakfasts were small, but satisfying -- with cooked-to-order eggs or omelets. The small outdoor pool is refreshing and the grounds have cozy seating areas for dusk or evening snacks, wine tasting and meeting fellow guests. There's also a tour-booking office, which we didn't use. --> Highly recommended.

Could have been great, but!

The property and staff were wonderfull and the little town is quaint and welcoming. The problem is there are a lot of stray dogs in town . During the day the dogs are docile and friendly, but at night they go nuts and start barking like crazy from midnight till 2 or 3 in the am. There must be 20 of them and It is not possible to sleep through the noise. If they started a human society in this town and addressed teh problem this would be an awesome place to go for a great experience!

Chacras De Coria Lodge is a welcome oasis of serenity and service at the end of each day in wine country. The staff was perfectly attentive and accomodating, although, not the most knowledgeable with directions to wineries. The grounds are lush and the pool inviting. We stayed in the two bedroom casita with our kids. The beds were most inviting. We will stay here again.

Extremely kind

New name and new management since I booked in April. All staff were extremely helpful. This is south of Mendoza city, in a very upscale, beautiful area near several major wineries.

A beautiful, relaxing retreat in Mendoza

Posted Feb 22, 2006
This is the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. Everything is new-looking and well maintained, with a beautiful yard with pool and hot tub. The hotel is located on a quiet road in a suburb of Mendoza. The hotel's location makes for a lovely, relaxing, and very quiet retreat. There are tons of services, such as massages in your room or poolside. There's an excellent restaurant on site that also does room service. There are also other restaurants nearby, but since it's located in a suburb, don't expect tons of options like in the city. It's a bit far from downtown Mendoza (about a $20 peso or $7 dollar cab ride), so it's not super convenient if you plan to run back and forth a lot. But, it's a truly lovely place to stay and well worth the money. We were upgraded for free to the family suite, which is actually a private 2-bedroom house. But I'm sure the regular rooms are just as nice.
