“We loved our brief stay on beautiful Alfriston. A lovely hotel with excellent staff and a fine breakfast.”

“The room was in adequate no hooks in bathroom Mattress was had added layer of sponge on top to form it Did not do the job instead I felt I was going to fall off It was very uncomfortable Very grumpy manager did not want to hear about my complaint”

“The hotel is a home from home with a luxury spa, Lovely staff and excellent food, it’s definitely worth the money. Lovely friendly atmosphere, gorgeous grounds and fabulous staff, I wish I could have stayed longer.”

“There was a golden wedding lunch party on the Saturday I stayed and one couple brought their dog which constantly yapped all afternoon when they left it outside in the garden. It did not make for a very relaxing afternoon reading on the terrace.”

“Don't believe any pictures you see on Expedia. Had to pay for the room before they would let us have the key. Room was in a state of disrepair, holes in ceiling, threadbare carpets and generally dirty. Returned to reception and they offered an alternative room. This room was just as bad. Ridiculously hot with only 1 window that opened. A ridge under the carpet that was a trip hazard and a bathroom that was filthy. Returned to reception again and was offered a 3rd room to look at but decided to……

“The room was clean but patio door lock was broken. There were a couple of stains on the carpet. The water pressure in the shower was dreadful!”

“Loved the location however bathroom very dated. Could not believe given how hot the weather has been it does not have a fridge hence waters provided became warm. Was told people complain about the noise however surely a fridge outway a slight noise.”
