One of the elevators was not working.. ok, things break, but it’d be great if front desk staff tries to help patrons.. show some hospitality instead of instructing customers to refill the coffee creamer by going under the table to open a box to restock. Expected more with the price per night and brand.

It was a nice stay. We did have to switch rooms because the toilet wasn't working. After the switch, it was fine. We did find an ant near the tv stand. Other than those two, we were comfortable with our stay at the Hampton Inn and Suites.

Not sure if this is because this room was allocated through Expedia but the toilet plumbing was bad at room 207. I had to ask for the plunger and use it twice to unclog the toilet myself. Water doesn't simply go fast enough and hotel shouldn't give it anyone until they fix it.

Hotel is dirty, and old and falling apart. Rooms are freezing cold. Elevators are dirty. Hotel is not worth the cost to stay. The worst hotel I stayed at.

We were within walking distance of our daughter’s dissertation at university of Illinois college of engineering. There is a Perkins next door. Convenient to other restaurants. Friendly, welcoming staff. Nice breakfast. Although we were a few minutes early to eat, the kitchen staff offered to fix us a hot meal. Very nice!!

Great location (near campus)
The best thing about the is hotel is the location. Walking distance to the campus was a huge plus. Rooms are reasonably spacious, the breakfast was average and the staff were uniformly friendly

The hotel room felt like it had not been updated since the 1980s. The TV was old school, the a/c made a whirring sound the entire night, and also smelled like the filter had never been changed. One of the front desk staff members was complaining about her week and about another member of the staff. The bathroom smelled damp. The toilet tissue felt like it was single ply (very rough).

The room itself was fine for the price. The staff was cordial but did not seem to know what was going on. Waited at the counter for a half an hour just for them to tell us our rooms were not ready. When we came back after the timeline given the rooms were still not ready. Once we finally got into the room it was ok.
