It was clean and safe but not the prettiest. Under a lot of contruction. I bet it will be very nice when it’s done. Breakfast omelet was the best. Rooms are nice and big! Good location.

needs updatesPosted Feb 28, 2018
Pros: Staff was very pleasant and helpful (except with how to turn the machines on in the small gym. Breakfast was delightful and staff there was very nice
Cons: See notes above
Location: Location is excellent. Very near good dining and the university.
Very disappointing stay in a hotel that used to be very nice. I wish that there had been advisement that the hotel was in the process of remodeling. Had to use the service elevator (slow and run down) and the microwave in the room burned a hole in my paper coffee cup....needs to be replaced. Decor in room was very dated and carpet old throughout the building. The bed mattresses were ripped and in great need of replacement.

This hotel is a good facility that is well locatedPosted Feb 9, 2018
Location: The location is very close to the southwest corned of the University of Illinois campus and business park.
I wanted a sleeping room and this hotel provided a good room that was well located near my destination. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good.

Had a very good breakfast. Pool area was closed for undisclosed reasons. Initial rooms toilet wouldn’t stop running, probably due to handle being broken. Next room I was given had a strange odor to it. There was garbage in the elevator.

Great hotel, much nicer than I expected.Posted Jan 27, 2018
I ended up staying here twice this week and I really love this hotel. The staff have been fantastic, the hotel is very clean, the pool and hottub were clean and relaxing. The rooms were spotless, comfortable and really nice. This is my new go to spot for staying when I’m in town here. Even though half the hotel is currently under renovations, you wouldn’t know it once you’re in your room. Both rooms I stayed in were very quiet. I look forward to staying here again.

Good locationPosted Jan 3, 2018
Have stayed here numerous times for the last 10 or more years mainly for the location and size of rooms. The property is in desperate need of renovations which, thankfully, I saw is happening in part of it. The complimentary breakfast is adequate and the made to order omelet is usually very good. Due to the long line and the slow preparation time, though, we skipped it this time and opted for the tasty but lukewarm buffet items. The rate we paid ($86) for the room was appropriate for the quality of the room and facility. We may opt for a newer property on our next visit to C-U until this one is updated.

They are renovating.Posted Dec 27, 2017
Pros: A good quality breakfast, free coffee in the lobby most of the time, no bar (encouraging drinking, friendly staff.
Cons: Stop trying to charge for the in-room safe, if you have real valuables, ask the front desk to safeguard them.
Location: Within two blocks some decent restaurants, not high-end, but ok. There is a Hooters next door and a Walgreens a half-block away. Univ. of IL.
We had friendly staff, good breakfast, friendly visitors - no grumps. Heat controls worked well. Television is difficult to control. Someone has it set for the pay per view current movies and if you want to see the local weather or sports you need to keep trying to fool the controls. Eventually we learned not to follow the directions and just put in some numbers and when a real channel appeared, then you were in and you could find the local television channels. You are within easy walking distance of the U. of Illinois sports complex, so watch the sports calendar because it will be crowded at those times.
