Yes, it is indeed old, built in 1790. I’m not sure what pictures you are looking at, as both rooms you were in are depicted accurately online. Please note that you were in the most spacious rooms we have, and you were upgraded to a King to accommodate your request - after you checked in - for a refrigerator. And we did not charge you an extra cleaning fee for having to change bedding in both rooms. Next time please mention any concerns you have while you are still on site, so we may address them with you, before you decide to post a 1 star review.

Hi Lisa, Thank you for your kind words about the restaurant. As for the your room comments, first I'd like to mention that many people like a firm mattress; it is impossible to predict. Second, if you had brought your concerns to our attention at the front desk - perhaps after the first night of your two night stay - we would have addressed your concerns, and at the very least offered to give you a different room. I personally saw you several times during your stay and would have been happy to assist. If you should stay with us again, please talk with us about different room options. Our goal is for all guests to have an enjoyable experience.

Gosh Dennis, a bad review on Yelp wasn't enough? Even after my Hotel Manager spoke to you in person and switched your room? The screens you claimed were torn were not, rooms are constantly updated, and I - and thousands of other guests - object to the frat house comparison. Here's a helpful hint: call the establishment where you want to stay, and discuss room options, so you'll know immediately if you should book or not. Judging by your Yelp history, it looks like you almost never write anything positive. How in the world did we get those 3 stars? As for the "shockingly uninviting" FREE continental breakfast? Which part was minimal, and how could we improve? We already offer cereal, oatmeal, granola, local yogurt, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, pastry, bread for toast, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and juices.And finally, it is stated publicly that our inn is pet-friendly. If you know you don't like dogs, don't book where they are welcome. If you had mentioned you heard barking while it was actually happening, and not after, we would have been able to address the issue.

Hi Lorraine,I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed in your room, which happens to be one of the largest we have, and in our historic, coveted, Main House. As you requested, we made sure to vacuum the room twice, and ensured the pillows did not have feathers. As for a large bug in the sink, it sounds like a water bug, and unfortunately it is very hard to control when they will appear. For the complimentary breakfast, please let me know what you think could be added - besides our offerings of cereal, house made granola, oatmeal, fruit, local yogurt, hard boiled eggs, pastry, bread for toast, juices, coffee, tea and hot chocolate - as we are always looking to improve.

Hi Amanda, That is a pretty strong accusation without any proof. If you had said something to us while you were here, we would have checked the sheets with you, to assure you that is not the case. No one has ever gotten bed bugs from their stay at Crabtree's.

Hi Karen,Thank you for your feedback, and I'm sorry you were not able to work the Keurig in your room. All machines were operational when we checked them. Unlike a traditional hotel, such as a Marriott, we are an inn, and as such we do not staff our front desk 24 hours. There is an after-hours number to call if needed. And please let us know how we could have improved the complimentary continental breakfast, as we welcome new ideas. Since we already offer cereal, oatmeal, house-made granola, local yogurt, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, pastry, bread for toast, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and juices, I'm not sure what else there could be.
