The hotel was conveniently located near the market, restaurants and tours. The staff was very accommodating and assisted with our sightseeing plans. A good value.

The best historic hotel in Charleston

Posted May 19, 2016
Pros: Everything !
Cons: Nothing
Location: It is situated in the middle of historic Charleston so you can pick anything great restaurants to a site seeing ride by carriage and horse. Bikes also
Lets start when you arrive water with ice and cucumbers all day long. Same with coffee apples and the midday home made cookies ! The staff could not be more helpful ! At four wind and cheese on the house the a grand breakfast also on the house. Bedding has the softest sheets and super comfortable beds.

Suzanne, Thank you for taking time to share your comments! As the days get hotter here in Charleston, all of our guest do love that ice water and lemonade in the lobby either on arrival or after a long day of walking around town. Although we don't have bikes here on property, as you saw, there are places to rent them just around the corner. Thank you again for your stay and we can't wait to see you again!

great hotel in the historic district

Posted May 12, 2016
Pros: All the above, in my comments. "historic" feel, but totally modern rooms.
Location: Right in the center of the historic district---perfect for walking anywhere. No need for a car while you are there.
This was a fabulous hotel---like a small European one. Cozy, clean, updated, breakfast and cocktails on the rooftop porch overlooking the city. Great restaurants within walking distance. will definitely share this info with friends, and will return on another visit.

To Small

Posted May 1, 2016
Pros: The people who worked there.
Cons: Carpet floors .... add electrical outlets .... have non-valet parking.
Location: Most things are within walking distance. A free trolley travels a circuit to most attractions.
Noisey room .... no floor carpeting of any substance to reduce noise from those above. Very small room and bath. Not enough outlets for electricity. Parking is a problem.

We appreciate your business and greatly value your feedback. Please know that there are several room types available for booking with spacious floor plans other than the small petite queen which you booked. Because parking can be difficult in downtown Charleston we have simplified the process by offering the convenience of valet parking at the same rate that you would pay to self park in a nearby garage or other parking facilities. Again we appreciate the kind comments of our friendly guest service and hope that you will consider staying with us once again in the future. Best Regards, Barry Hutto General Manager

Great location, most of the staff went above and beyond. I would come back again the only change is I probably would request a room that is not street side since there is a lot of noise at night, definitely not a fault of the hotel though.

Nice hotel except...

Posted Apr 26, 2016
Great hotel except we were charged $250 after we checked out for no apparent reason and double charged us $40 for parking fee. Other than that the trip was great.
