Our first stay with Fairfield property. Nice price, nice room, and good check in experience. However, had a problem at 1:30am on our first night - our smoke/fire detector unit began beeping. No fire -just a low battery warning. Enough to wake us up as well as folks in the adjoining room. Front desk was courteous but couldn't send a maintenance person up. Asked us to stand on a chair and try to remove battery. We couldn't figure out how to do this, and didn't want to stay in the room without smoke detector. Was given option to move to a new room which we did. Very disappointed to be awakened to this "scare", to have to move in the middle of the night. This was a basic maintenance issue that should have been resolved easily by staff.

Apologies for the inconvenience of the low battery alert with your smoke alarm and I am pleased that the front desk was able to accommodate you with another room. Our maintenance took care of the problem when they arrived first thing the next morning.
