Decent Hotel, centrally located with parking

Posted Jan 23, 2017
Pros: Clean, comfortable, central
Cons: The "Brew Pub" - depressing. Otherwise, they've done what they could with the architecture they have.
Location: Great location for Charleston sights, Upper King, French Quarter, Ft Sumter ferry. City Market and the Gibbes Museum are practically next door.
This is a decent hotel, centrally located between the French Quarter / City Market and Upper King Street. However, if you are looking for charm, this isn't it. The long narrow hallways feature ceiling tiles and the layout is classic motel. There's a small pool, which is convenient but far from a luxurious hangout. The "boutique" lobby is a promotional photo op and the "Brew Pub" is downright depressing. On the other hand, rooms are up to date and clean, so if you want location and clean comfort over charm, the King Charles is just fine.

Nice hotel in excellent location in French Quarter

Posted Jan 23, 2017
A nice hotel in a great location with a friendly staff and free on-site parking. Some quirks that are to be expected in an old building do not take away from a nice stay in downtown Charleston.

Beautiful hotel--walking distance to everything

Pros: Proximity to everything
Cons: Maybe a free continental breakfast?
Location: Everything in historic Charleston.
Really nice experience--pleasant staff, clean rooms, and free covered parking.

Great location

Nice hotel. Only draw back was size of hotel room. Had a queen bed. Room too small. Like being in a closet. Mentioned at desk and was told all rooms with queen beds are like that.

We are glad to learn that you enjoyed your visit to Charleston with us. The King Charles Inn features five room types, and the Queen is our most economical choice-- we most often recommend those for business travelers. Our one King bed rooms are larger and better suited to our leisure guests. Thank you for your feedback.

Wonderful hotel within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Friendly staff and very clean. Only complaint would be noisy air unit in room.

Great location!

Highly recommend. We were able to easily walk to all the restaurants on east bay, historical sites, Fort Sumter ferry, and all the shopping and bars on kings street. The hotel also serves free coffee in the morning and cheese in the evening along with drink specials.
