Need Nighttime ActivitiesPosted Aug 20, 2015
Pros: Location, nice served breakfast, lovely decor, and the cleanliness plus the historic nature of the Inn.
Cons: Could use an elevator to upper rooms.
Location: City Market, Slave Market Museum, retail stores, restaurants.
We thoroughly enjoyed Charleston and its rich history. Location is good and sights to see are within walking distance. Our experience though was that there was not much to do except eat after 5 or 6 PM. The nearby City Market closed around 5 or 6 as did the museums and historic venues. Good theater or music venues would be a welcome addition. There were ghost tours however the rainy weather kept us in our hotel room all evening and night.

Great location, great staffPosted May 16, 2015
We only stayed one night because they were sold out but I would definitely recommend this to anyone who doesn't mind an older, more intimate hotel. The room was small but comfortable, and beautifully furnished. The bathroom was completely updated and clean. Our room overlooked a lovely courtyard with a fountain. The complimentary breakfast and evening reception was wonderful, too. But it's the staff that make this place exceptional. From the time we walked in, they were friendly, courteous, and so helpful. Each and every one of them. I would love to stay here again.

Location, location, and great staff and amenitiesPosted May 13, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff and many amenities.............loved the wine and cheese event!
Cons: Our room was adequate in size but could have been just a little bit larger.
Location: Hotel is in the centre of the action.................best location in Charleston!
Such a nice surprise, with easy parking very close and polite helpful staff. Location of this hotel could not be better!

dustPosted Apr 25, 2015 on Hotels
The room was small but clean. The outside hallways, however were dirty. The lamp outside our room was full of spider webs, hadn't been cleaned in awhile. When we went for breakfast (inside) there was a layer of dust on the door next to us, had been cleaned in awhile. Otherwise the hotel was fine, service good and close to everything. Would not stay again however.

Spring breakPosted Apr 2, 2015
Excellent choice of hotels! Central location to everything, very convenient. The only thing I would change would be attention to small details from cleaning staff our second day of our stay. It was almost like the bathroom was not wiped down, anything straightened up or replaced. The staff was WONDERFUL and very accommodating!! Wine and cheese in evenings nice touch, breakfast staff very helpful and pleasant!

WHAT A SURPRISE!!Posted Mar 12, 2015 on Hotels
Great area of Charleston...right in the middle of everything. We just needed a room before leaving the next morning on a cruise. We walked into a beautiful antique hotel and our room had a working gas fireplace-which was perfect because the temps had dropped into the 40s. The staff was wonderful. We got back from our cruise in the morning and went back to the hotel and dropped our bags so we could explore Charleston all day as we had a late afternoon flight. They could not have been more accommodating and I cannot recommend them highly enough. If you need NEW....this isn't your place. But if you like antiques and feeling "at home", then this is the place for you!!

Cons: Coffee available all day - there is no coffee maker in the room, (but coffee was available in the reception area during the morning only)
Historic hotel in heart of Charleston has maintained character and charm. Rooms are comfortable, and common areas in keeping with the historic layout of the hotel with peaceful courtyards where breakfast / managers wine in the evening may be enjoyed.
