There was a nice King bed but it was on the opposite side of the motel where traffic noise was a problem for sleeping. The sink in our bathroom was slow to drain the water.

We stayed in a detached building that was motel style. The room was in terrible conditon: peeling panelling on furniture, stained bathroom fixtures, no plug in bathroom sink and dirty. The door to the room was almost impossible to open.. Not at all worth the money.

Good location and clean. But property is aging and not being kept up. Our window was completely fogged over (broken seal between panes) and our view of the water was blocked by this fogged glass.

The shower leaked as soon as I cut it on. Puddles on the floor. Couldnt take one, too much water. TV wouldnt work properly. Everytime I tried to watch Netflix or sign in, the TV would freeze.

The location was very nice. The room was spacious. The only thing we didn't in our room was a mini fridge. They only had the fridge in the deluxe room and they should be in all rooms. Bob & Kathy Bell

Location by the private marina, quiet area but not secluded Outdoor looked OK, indoor so so, bed room is below standard, linen was not "tight" when checked in, pillows already thin/flat. Wi fi is terrible/unstable. Wifi in the lobby is good.

The staff was helpful, however our room was never checked on in 3 days. The breakfast was good and convenient. I didn't like the people standing outside our room smoking and talking loud on their phones. This isn't the responsibility of the hotel, I wish people would be more respectful of others. We would stay there again, the price is right.

The concierge lady gave wonderful service and was very sweet, but the room had fleas and skid marks on the comforter and we didn't have a microwave or fridge like we booked online.

This is an older property. The front desk was great, friendly and efficient. The room would have been great except for 2 things. The bathtub was an old jet tub that didn't work and looked like it had been caulked by a blind man, easily fixed in 15 min. The a/c heat unit was very loud. There are 2 sections to hotel, right side is exterior rooms and probably older, it's where we stayed.We had pets.The left is with lobby and has interior rooms. Breakfast was great. I would recommend, I will stay again.

My first room key opened to another guest staying In the room. Next room Sheets not cleaned , bathroom door dirty , no refrigerator and only towels for 2 guest : booked a room 5 guest : no refrigerator when we needed toddlers juices stored. MOD tired to get us towels quickly, we just cleaned ourselves and changed the sheets . I know places are short staffed & the curtain staff doing the best they can

The location is great! Minutes to all the main attractions, and the hotel is next to a water canal. However, La Quinta needs to do some serious maintenance and improvements to their rooms and facility. The shower curtain rod was installed backwards, resulting in not being able to keep the shower curtain closed while taking a shower. The beds were very soft and crippled my back the next morning. The ice machine was broken. Only one of the two keys worked. When we arrived, there was only one washcloth and two towels in our room… we had booked it for 4 guests. Had to go down to the front office to ask for more towels/washcloths at midnight… very inconvenient.Loved the location but won’t be staying here again.

It’s not safe that the stair exit doors are always unlock/open for anyone to just walk in. The rooms smelled like cigarettes. The carpets were damp. Our shower was leaking to down stairs and the bathroom was not in the best condition. But the breakfast was good and customer service was good as well.

There was a short wait to check in and the elevator wasn't working. By the time I parked my car the situation was rectified. The staff was courteous and the room was very nice. A guest had a dog barking incessantly & the microwave didn't work but everything else was fine.

I initially reserved a room through Groupon. Hostess said Groupon didn’t send info over. We tried to get a room with the hotel and was informed they were full. Ordered through Expedia and the hostess acted as if we were inconveniencing her. Our room had a bad odor, like a wet Labrador had smoked a cigarette in our room. No toilet paper and floors were dirty. Hotel looks run down.

One of the things we were looking for was a pool. Even tho it was advertised on the web page the pool was not open. We were disappointed that it was not open. It was a good and economical choice while staying in Charleston. It was convenient to downtown. Since we didn’t spend much time at the hotel except to sleep, it fit the bill for our stay.

I was very disappointed in this hotel. We stay before about 2 years ago. The hotel was not at all like before. The first room we got the tub was chipped, and looked dirty.toilet looked dirty. The sink had hair in it. I asked for another room. This one was only slightly better. The hotel apologized and said they just got the money for renovations. This trip to our favorite City was not a pleasant one because of the stay. It would have been nice to know on the website that the hotel was going under renovations. Our Anniversary would have been a a more pleasant hotel.

This property is next to a beautiful harbor and its location has much potential, despite Uber rides into the center of Charleston being pricey. However, this property desperately need updating. The shower knob came off in my hand, the mattress cover was hugely lumpy, the cleanliness left much to be desired, the wifi prctically nonexistent, and the breakfast was disorganized, tables left dirty, etc. If LQ could update this hotel completely, it would be splendid, but at the moment there are better alternatives.

The staff totally ignored our request for another hair dryer. Not sure what issues were but hair dryer in room just went out. I asked twice for hand held or replacement and they said it would be replaced yet we never saw anything.

Our door would hardly open, mold in the bathroom, multiple stains on the light covers, so much rust on the light figures. Bed were also terrible.

The motel side of this property should be torn down. The door would not seal so it was like you were sleeping in the road. Half the lightbulbs were blown. The ceiling leaked from sprinkler head, the bathroom light would not turn off, Scotch tape was used to hold the exhaust fan in place, the sealant strip on the tub was half pulled off, mildew on most areas, matresses were stained with no mattress pad nor bedbug protector, tv volume would not work so you either had to have no tv or a very loud tv, also tv had been dropped and there were lines in the screen. This room was a complete nightmare… Also, an employee was at the back of the building smoking weed. Hotel side might be better but I would not chance it.

Very worn and run down. Paint peeling on exterior doors. Corrosion on base of light fixtures. TV did not work properly. The room was in great need of being updated.
